Default NEWS: SMALL CAR SAFETY -IIHS

This news made me think to get at least a mid-size car instead of xB.

What do you guys think?

I currently drive a total death trap (Chevy, Cavalier) according to the safety reports. BUT my little car was slammed into at 75 mph by a HUGE cadillac and I wasn't hurt (just sore) and the my car drove away. My brother wrapped it around a tree going around 50mph and HE was fine and the car drove away. Just keep in mind the crashes in the lab do not reflect the results seen in real life crashes. Your best bet is be an alert driver no matter what you drive. I still plan on getting my box this July. That's my little opinion.

Size isn't everything. There are quite a few midsize cars that aren't terribly safe. The xB's structure is sound, the one thing that would make it much safer is side/side curtain airbags.

You also need to realize that the box is very safe to drive, tough to lose control and hit something. Of course that has nothing to do with idiot drivers hitting you, but something to factor in.
