Default Auxillary Plug For Radio Not Working

I am the new owner of a 2006 Xb and so far I love it. The only problem I found is that when I plug my ipod into the auxillary receptical and push the auxillary button on the radio controls, nothing happens. I have tried several different cords and that does not seem to be the problem.

Is this a common problem? How should I start trying to fix it?. I am definitely not handy and if it is not a simple trouble shooting solution, I may be out of luck without resorting to a dealer or sound company.

I am supposed to have a year of warranty left. Would this likely be covered under the warranty?

I will appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

I hope my fix is as simple as that. I will check with the dealer. Only problem is that where I bought the car is about an hour away. Not too convenient to be running back and forth. If it is under warranty, perhaps a local dealer can check it. I will try to clarify that.

could be a bad solder job on the wire harnest if you have a aftermarket radio. i have the eclipse AVN6620 direct plug in to factory harness

If I remember correctly: take the air/con ***** off. Unscrew those screws. Pop off the console facia. Pull the radio out (I believe 10mil). It will only come out about 7 inches so put your tiny hands on. See if the harness is fully connected. If there is something loose, don't pull it out. If it's broke you might break it even worse. Just push it in further by grasping the plastic and not the wires.
