Default Afe Power Takeda Link Cold Air Intake Review 2008-2009

Hey guys! This is my first post here so bare with me here. Ive read on this forum for a while but am now deciding to do something.
I...Scratch that...my girlfriend just recently bought me the Takeda CAI off of AutoAnything.com (I had them price match it and stole it for $206) for my birthday. I own a 2009 xb and so I wanted a little more kick. I also added the TRD Drivers Side vent so it gets more air flow! You can see the filter through the vent as well

Let me start off by saying that this is a big a$# pipe! It is so shiny and clean.
The install came fairly easy with very good instructions with detailed pictures. This came with their oil free filter and it looks very nice.

Performance (HP):
I have a buddy with this same intake and he had his dyno'd at 12hp (we live in high altitude). I have not had a chance to dyno this but right off of the bat this thing kicks. Trust me, this is not a placebo effect, I can feel a good amount of horsepower when I accelerate and especially after i hit about 3800 rpms this thing just zips. The sound of it is pretty sick too. All of my friends thought I put in a new exhaust system as well cus this thing has so much growl. I would recommend this to anyone that is not looking to spend $,$$$ dollars and is looking for a good addition to horsepower.

Performance (MPG):
I would say I drive a little more aggressive now with this but I have improved gas mileage by about 3 on the highway. I always look at my average MPG's and before I had this it was at 26.5 and now it is at 29.8.
I know a lot of people will want to call bs. I would just like you to see for yourself.

Afe Customer Service: Wow, these guys blew me away. When I was installing this intake, I tried to push the pipe in too hard into the a part and it ripped. I explained to the Afe tech (Michael) and he gladly sent me a new one and I also got an extra clamp with it. Didn't even charge shipping. Also, they are not very snotty at all and I appreciate doing business with them!

Few concerns I would like to address:
I need help with what to do with you guys.
Soon after my intake was installed, it threw a CEL, VSC OFF, trac light at me. I went over to O' Reilly auto parts to get it scanned and it was code P0101. Something to do with the MAF but i just bought MAF cleaner and cleaned the crap out of it and got it erased by the guy.
A few miles later it came back on. I took it to the dealer and he wanted to charge me $50 to bring it in but oh well i went in...
Lucky enough he just brought his tech to check it out and I was missing the O- Ring for the MAF. He said that I needed to call Afe power because they should have sent me one.
I did that and he said to talk to the dealer. Toyota wanted me to pay $206 for a new MAF Sensor because that is the only way I can get the O- Ring. I said no thanks and got a variety of o- rings at AutoZone. I slapped one on my MAF Sensor to seal the gap. I dont see or feel any leaks but my lights are still on. Ive also tried disconnecting the negative terminal on the battery and that only worked for about 40 Miles in rush hour traffic.

Is there anything I could do besides getting a new MAF sensor because mine is already pretty new?! I really dont want to send the CAI back because I do love this intake. And it is car specific so it shouldnt do anything.

Thanks in advance and tell me how I did for my first review/post!

I have the same intake. The cel goes on and off varing by the temp outside. From what i was told about the cel by another guy at a parts store the light is on because afe engineered the maf to sit 2 low in the pipe and its not getting a proper reading. Injen put a spacing plate for the maf and doesnt throw a cel. Long story short the part is defective.

so is there any part I could get to fix that or will it just be like this for as long as I have it?
