Default CAI Injen Question

I bought a CAI for my 06' Scion and I ran across a video thought rain(not puddles) can go through the hood and drip into the intake, potentially waterlocking my car.

Is this a myth or a fact? I just want to be ready to make a divert-er as seen in the video.

Do you know how much water it takes to hydro-lock a car? Your stock plastic inner-fender liner and the minimum amount of common sense is all you need.

A lot, the filter needs to be flooded with water. Don't ford any creeks/rivers or tow any wakeboarders behind your car.

i live in so cal so i dont worry about the water too much... but yea just watch out for big puddles.. normal rain wont hurt it.. your fog lights or if you have the plastic insert will protect it...

If your worried about hydrolocking, set it up as a Short Ram Intake if possible.
