If anyone here has gone or will be going to any Team Scion West meets at Cerritos, check out my Injen intake, Steven (bBist) has one too as well as Ryan A. (Green Bean).

Steven has the cover on his car and it looks real nice and real clean..with the "Injen" logo stamped on it.

These intakes are NICE...felt a big difference on mine and the quality is top notch. I highly recommend them for intakes as well as the engine cover as well.

If you would like to see a picture let me know or hit me up this sunday during the meet. Mine is powder coated black, Steve's and Ryan's are polished.

By the way..Ryan had the factory upgrade intake (you know which one) and he switched over to Injen's intake...you get more HP plus the price is so much better...

Also, all three xBs mentioned (mine, Steve and Ryan) will be at SEMA as well...I saw Injen's xB several times when I went there and at the stereo shop....believe me..it's OFF THE HOOK! One of the nicest xBs I have seen so far with Volks, Sony, bBist CF kit....You don't want to miss this one if you go to SEMA....check them out.

Any probs with the MAF being located so close to the throttle body?

apparently not, since the intake has been on one of our member's cars for over a month now and it's his daily driver. it's also been dyno tested and seems to work great. so who knows. maybe that makes the car run leaner which could be a secret to making HP, but without logging A/F and EGT between stock and the new intake, no one really knows.

hey all,

i got my injen short ram, more like a CAI, from the group buy.

it took just over an hour to put in, and looks pretty good. i also have the injen RD CAI in my Matrix.

i didn't get the special Scion/Injen emblem either. maybe we'll get it once injen gets the reg card?

i noticed bBist.com had his car on the instructions also!

must be nice living in SoCal where all of the manfacturers are!

Well I think this is one of the probs with MAF cars, is that the sensors themselves are really finnicky, and inconsistent. I haven't played much with Toyota MAFs yet, but I've worked with some Nissan MAFs that were unphased by anything, whereas some others (same part # MAFs) could cause the engine to stumble a bit just from having a really open-element aftermarket air filter (this one particular car took a while to solve, but I eventually discovered the air being whipped up by the radiator fan was actually causing the MAF to wig out!!). This discrepancy in performance might have also been a result of the age of the sensor.

Now I'm unsure of the sensitivity and particulars of the Toyota MAFs, but one of the Toyota factory tech/engineer guys was telling me about how a factory project car he built had situated the MAF just a little too close to the tb, and it just wouldn't run perfectly, so that's why I was worried. What doesn't help is the fact that if there's some inconsistency in the sensitivity of the sensors, then such setups might work on some cars, but you're going to have those rare few that will experience problems. And it's really difficult, as the developer, for Injen to gather a large base of R&D vehicles to determine if there may be such problems. I guess this is one of those things, where if there is a problem in the design, will have to take some time to reveal itself...

Actually got my Injen xB gel emblem special delivered to me this evening.
It's really nice and high quality like all their products.

Here is the disclaimer: "The xB emblem .....is not meant to withstand engine heat. It was intended to be used on your trunk lid."

Just to make sure it's placed in an area that will not ruin the emblem.

cool decal. it's like those injen license plate frames. makes it easy for the cops to know you have illegal stuff under the hood.

j/k i know injen gets it's stuff CARB approved. still, i always thought it was funny when you see bone stock cars with the injen or AEM plate frame. like that somehow lets everyone know not to mess with you. haha.

i'm just messing around you guys. i think it's cool that they give you that decal thing. special for xB owners. i wonder if people in japan will want to buy those? hmmm.

i have the SPFR intake and it sounds awesome. i'm sure all the intakes sound similar. when you get on the throttle it makes a really nice throaty gurgling sucking sound, and you can hear the engine struggling to move the car as fast as you have requested it to.

Speaking of the SPFR...any plans on a public release yet?

And is the filter on the Injen an oiled one?
