Default Seibon carbon fiber hood help

I just ordered a seibon OEM carbon fiber hood, and noticed it says not to use the stock "shocks" or whatever they are. (i forgot) anyways it says it could warp the hood. I cant seem to find anything anywhere to put compatible ones on that will work with the hood.. any suggestions from anyone else who has put a carbon fiber hood on?

All i seem to be able to find are "Hood damper kits". And also see a lot of people saying don't use those kits on carbon fiber.. so im pretty confused lol

thanks in advance for any help.

Hatch or hood? If hood you dont even use shocks to hold up the hood. If its a hatch then yes DONT use the stock shocks remove them and find some that are for those. Only place i know sells them is fastscions.com i think

It's a hood. Maybe that's why I was getting so confused when I searched for the hood accessories

Is that all that would be needed so the hood doesn't warp? I'm just trying to be positive because those are expensive lol

As far as I know those wont warp your hood. They have some an option for lightweight(carbon fiber) hoods on that page also. Im sure you can find them else where for cheaper but that was just the first place I thought of.

For the hood. You don't need shocks. Unless you want dampeners. Then you need ones for a cf hood. I have the vented seibon cf hood. But I don't have the dampeners. And everything's fine

Hood dampers are what you need. They are oil filled and prop the hood on its own.

NoLimitz sells compatible ones across the Scion brand for $120:

I haven't used them, but he's a reputable seller.

forget the dampers forget the shocks, just use the OEM hood prop that came with your car. it wont warp your hood...its not like youre putting your hood up 24/7 anyways. save yourself the money all you need is to sand out the hole where the hood prop goes to enlarge it and youre done.
