I'm new and just got my new 2012 tc manual last month. So my problem is after the engine is warmed up, the rpm would stay at about 700 at idle which is normal. But every time when I rev the engine or when the car is going to a fully stop (shift to neutral), the rpm will drop from whatever to 500 rpm (sometimes below the 500 rpm line around 400 or 450, but it doesn't look like the car is going to stall) and then back to 800 and then drop again to 700 and stay there at idle. Is it normal? Thanks
I'm with him ^ on this one I wouldn't be majorly concerned unless it died its a brand new car still has to get broke in and still all under factory warranty until you have sometime issues don't worry about it just either remember or write down the conditions it happens in just in case you need to trouble shoot then it will be an easier find my tc has done the same thing before
Also take into account that the computer is going to have to learn and adjust itself. Im pretty sure it has to do with the drive by wire. It will get better.
Mine does the same thing. The tach is not accurate, when it dips to 500rpm's (according to the tach) it is actually almost 600rpm(using a scan gauge to view RPM's.)
I saw the rpm dropped to 400 few times this week when I was going to stop at the red light. I did feel the car vibrated a little bit for a sec when rpm hit 400 and then it rebounced immediately back to 700. When it dropped to 500 I couldn't feel any vibration. Many people say its normal, I guess its normal too, but it annoys me every time when rpm drops below 500 and gives me that "going to stall" like feeling and its my brand new tc.
mine did it and actually stopped, cant remember where but one thread said to disconnect battery then reconnect it and when starting the car up let it idle for 5min this will reset everything and rpm issue will be gone
did this last time i took off my battery and haven't had any issues with the rpm flux
