I am curious to see what everyone out there has attempted to race, and what you have won and lost against...

I know I have tried to race alot of stuff, just because.. make sure you explain breifly about the race.

tC-vs-RSX-S | Probally not a whole 1/4 mile run, but I had left school and pulled up next to one at the light. Him and his girl were in his RSX and I was by myself. Jumped him almost flawlessly at the light and was able to keep my space until about 4000rpm in 4th gear, then he was able to begin to catch up which at that time, traffic had begun to become congested.

tC-vs-Sentra SE-R | Last night actually, going to my g/f house, I had an SE-R pull along side of me as we were rolling. Finally two lights later were able to be the front two at the light. He looked to have had interior work done, and possibly something under the hood... only reason I think that is because of his pods and tach (but hey.. maybe he didn't) Light turned green, and he spun out toooo much... I left him at the light and I had beat him by at least a 1/2 cars length... we ran at least a 1/2 mile or 3/4 mile.

I had been beaten by a Lotus Elise the other day... Man.. I gotta say that is one sick ___ car!

 

stu, can you feel the difference with the header on top end? third gear is where i always lose my races. course i only race things that have more hp. I have only actually raced a celica gts and lost by a car length up to 90. i wonder what i will do once all my new mods get on.

 

I definelty can feel a difference with both the megan headers, and the WR intake with the TRD exhaust... I definelty think that the reason why racing is getting better for me is the short throw shifter too, and the tC's jumping ability... I'm pretty sure that some of these races I've done has been drivers skill related too.. so..

more hondas the you can shake a stick at, 1 rx7 1980s i think, and then i got my ___ whuped by a civic hatch with a turbo b18 the other night, that was pretty cool, the guy was running an open down pipe with no other exhaust at all, with sparks and ___ flyin all over the place. i heard the BOV as soon as he pulled up, but was feelin cocky, and i got smoked!

 

a g35 took me by two cars by the end of 2nd gear... of course my launch was crap cause i didn't want to race at first to make things worse he slowed down so i could catch up and went from a 40 roll when we were even... raped again!!! he did that about 2 more times from a roll jeez gimmie a break!!!

 

the G35 is a beast, and everyone who has one seems to want to race me. WTF?

Well i finally had my first stop light race the other day.

Hooked-up Lincoln LS

rolled up to light i looked over and he inches up like he wants a piece...im thinking this big a$$ car wants to go....So i was like what the hell....i flow of the line and had him a car length but he was quick and gained a 1/2 car but, was still behind.....went up to 80 mph( in a 45 mind u)...and then i just let him go but i had him the whole way....pulled up to the next stop light and i took off again but he didnt go. Guess didnt want to try me again lol i was like because i thought he had a good chance. Anyone know how this car should match up....pretty sure he had the sports package with the rims and everything (manual too)???

Anyway i felt good...i love this car

 

Thats because it can take most anything with their car without trying.....i have driven the sports package one in auto and couldnt believe the power it had....could only image that the stick version kicks even more!!!!

 

for 30K the G35 is a very solid car. its got everthing, luxury, power, reliability, and looks.

 

Believe it or not, if you survey some Lotus boards, a lot of Elise owners are swapping their 2ZZ's for Honda motors. . . I don't remember which one, but I think it's the K20. Lighter weight, and higher tune-ability. Those things are already ridiculously light, and I've heard of them shedding an extra 200 lbs and more

 

The G35 is like the upscale Infiniti version of the tC. . . something I wish LEXUS had. Supposedly there will be a coupe version of the new IS350, and it's rumored to be aiming to beat the G35.

 

first of all the G35 is not close to being a upscale tc its a freakin skyline for the U.S. Also someone said at the begining of this post that the tC would beat a older eclipse, maybe a non turbo. The turbo eclipse will kill the tc all day long.

 

hey ive heard a lot of people say that the tC is a mini Lexus/Infiniti

 

I raced an eclipse turbo up a bridge here in Jacksonville. It looked like a 98 (guessing). I saw him waeving in and out of traffic and once he got next to me he slowed and looked at me. We both gunned it at the same time and I had him by at least a car length. Then all of a sudden I look in my mirror and he is way behind my with a cloud of black smoke flowing from the back of his car. I'm guessing he blew his turbo.

I've been smoked by a new Eclipse GT, a Maxima 3.5, and a Boxster, but what could I expect?
