Default Phoenix to Sedona Road Trip - Updates

Since it appears that most everyone won't be able to make the trip tomorrow, lets push the official trip back a few weeks and see if we can't come up with a plan for a cool trip?

My tenative suggestion for a date would be around July 9th... thoughts? The basic itenerary works out, though we've got plenty of time to hammer out the details, so feel free to add your thoughts and ideas.

As for me, I'll still be going up tomorrow (Jun 4). Anyone who would like to come is still more than welcome to head up with us. Since at the moment, AFAIK only about 6-8 of us are making the trip up, we're going to be pretty flexible in our planning, but the general itenerary goes something like this:

10AMish, we're going to stop at the Cobblestone carwash/gas station on Bell and the 51 ($2.19 a gallon right now, if anyone is ever in the area) and we'll wait around for a little bit in case anyone else decides to go. We'll be rolling no later than about 10:30.

Meander on up the hill, roll into Sedona a bit after noon, stop and have lunch somewhere. Since the girls may want to do a bit of shopping, and we're pretty well whipped, we'll probably stop at a couple of shops in downtown Sedona before heading to Slide Rock/Oak Creek.

After we all get our E-Coli infections, we may wander down the hill to Jerome, though my brother said that the road there is pretty torn up at the moment, so we may skip it and head directly to Prescott.

In Prescott it looks like we'll be meeting up with Jason and my brother, get dinner and maybe hit Whiskey Row or something.

Anyhow, that's the new revised plan for this Saturday. Anyone who wants to come is more than welcome, just don't expect rigid schedule, we're just going to go, get out of the heat for a day and have some fun. But if you do want to go, be at Bell and SR-51 at 10am.

As for a later trip, the floor is open for discussion, we need a date, and places to go, things to see... etc...

I'd agree except that I'm already committed to going, have company in from out of town and we decided a few weeks ago to head up to Sedona for a day or two. Thought it would be a fun thing for the Scion group to go too, got the green light, handed it off to Eddie, and well you know the rest already . Not to say that there can't be another trip later, just that I've got to go or the women in my life may well take it from me.

Anyhow, I'd say those of us who want to go/can go... well we go, we have a bit of fun, and come back down. Those of us who can't, well let's plan a bigger, more organized trip for say a month or so from now? Though I'd think July 4th weekend would be bad... so maybe July 9th?

I just got back from Williams, Flagstaff, and Prescott. What a trip in the last 2 days just to fix several hotels internet access and voicemail. Weather was in the 80 but windy. My xB was covered in bugs...

Don't sweat it, there'll be other times. Though if you and your guests decide to bail town for the day, I've modified the itenerary (specifically where we're leaving from) since at the moment it's not looking like a trip down to Camelback Scion is really needed. On the bright side of things, this will buy us some time to really plan out a N.AZ trip and make it really cool and fun .

By the by, any thing going on for next weekend? It looks like I'll be pretty busy the rest of the month (Cali on the 18th and the 25th is my birthday and I've been informed that I've got plans for that day, not that anyone will tell me what they are...). If there isn't... tubing down the river maybe? Anyhow, I'm sure someone will come up with something between now and then.
