I have a ? for people with mesh grille
This is a silly question, but are they hard to clean?
I am thinking about getting a mesh grille adn see that our cars car bug collectors, I was wondering if getting to the backing to clean it is hard.
Thanks
Edit: Meant "MESH" sorry.

If you are talking about the grills like on the RS 2.0, mine is not hard to clean. I just presoak at the car wash, and then hit it with the high pressure soapy water. No problem. Greased Lightning, is an excelent cleaner to use. I spray the bug collection on my grill and front end, wait 5 minutes and don't even have to scrub. I also use it on my wheels and tires, and wheelwells.
Caution to avoid caustic cleaners on painted surfaces.
our paints are very tough and chemical resistant.
however, caustic cleaners (lye-based) are not good for the long term life of the finish. damage is possible and cumulative.
A soak in caustic lye makes a fine paint remover, in general
for instance:
Westleys Bleche-White (tire cleaner) is a great product. It is not a bleach at all. It is a caustic detergent which melts away oxidized rubber.
Being a caustic, it also emulsifies -grease and organic grunge really well!- This is good, but it's not easy on paint.
So, if I use Westley's (am suspecting that Greased Lightning may be somewhat similar), then I apply, scrub, rinse quickly.
Like I say, our paints today are highly resistant to most cleaning chemicals, but it's not a chance I'd want to take on grille and body paints.
anyone know better? I sit on the safe side of caution
