Default Tire pressure sensor

I have read in a couple of reviews that the xB now comes standard with a tire pressure monitoring system. Can not verify this on this site or scion.com. Anybody know? Mine is ordered but not scheduled to arrive until late october!

There's not one in the xB. There is in the tC.

If it's there.... I haven't seen it.

I prefer to do a daily walk around anyway. (Not like it takes a bunch of time). Plus you can check for scratchs, dings, and the like.

It does not. I recall an online review in which a number of errors like that resulted from sloppily cutting and pasting pieces of other Scion reviews into a "review" of the 2006 xB; it was obvious that the author had never even seen a 2006 xB. Even the photos were obviously from a 2004/2005 sample.

I believe the way it works is by monitoring the speed of each wheel, using the wheel speed sensor already in the vehicle as part of the ABS. If one wheel starts to coutinuously spin faster, it would make sense that the tire is a smaller diameter than the others, meaning a low or flat tire. There's not an actual sensor in the wheel which measures pressure.

Thanks, I am finding out that there are a number or errors in the reviews. Also even on the scion site. Ever notice the brochure that says " removable rear seat" ?

the 04,05,and 06 look the exact same. only difference is the stereo for the 06. and the floor mats from 04 to the 05/06s, and the drivers side visor mirror.

Right. So when you see a review of a "2006" xB that has a photo of a radio without the rotary controls, you know they didn't actually photograph the "2006" that they were "testing."

(Especially when it's the exact same photo that appeared in the same site's review of the 2005 xB.)
