Default Has anybody tried the Hotchkis swaybar package?

Does anybody know how the car handles with this on? How does body roll compare to not having them installed? I am not sure if I should get them because I would usually want to get the Progress swaybar, but the Hotchkis has both front and rear. Thoughts? comments? thanx

Theyre overkill. I have them and theyre a pain in the ___.
Way to rigid for a daily driver. They slide and rub around and make noises and some have reprted broken end links as a result of their stiffness.
Im going to be getting rid of mine soon and just putting the stock one back on the front and adding the TRD to the rear, then getting front and rear struts

Ive read alot of post where people say there a little too much as CELL said then theres others who say they love them and swear by them. I would read alot of the posts that instigator posted up. A simple search would have brought up many topics on the parts themselves but thats another story.

the hotchkis bars are the first thing i bought for my new tc. i had them my last tc and they were friggin great. i'm not sure if there are a lot of people who've had both the hothckis and trd in order to compare them, but i had both of them. the trd bar is pretty good compared to stock, but the hotchkis bars take it to a whole new level. not only that, but i never had the hotchkis set on the tightest setting and they were still great. much thicker than the trd and almost twice as thick as stock. the progress bar is also out now-i think they've been selling for around $180-$190. u can get the hotchkis sways from trdsparks for $229 and free shipping. well worth the extra $30-$40.

Ok....Here we go.... The Purpose of a Sway bars in general is to flatten out the ride of the car and ADD to its handleing ability. Now taking that into account you can also adjust HOW it handles. IE: If you have alot of understear (Push) that you want to tighten up the rear sway bar to compensate and shift the load over the front tires.....THE LONG VERSION.....If the rear is set up tight and you are turning into a hard right hand turn....the rear swaybar will force the right rear tire to lift off the ground (three wheeling). This forces the other tires (Mostly the front right) to take up the weight load and therefore reducing understeer. Not if your sway bar(s) are so beefy that they create oversteer in highspeed long corners but you dont want to take any tension out of the rear you can put in a rear camber links and find tune the rear end....Granted that I only suggest this for racing application as it can cause your tires to wear extremely uneven and also will effect feel on when driving on public roads. I could go on and on and on about this but I have already said to much....If any of you want to know/discuss more let me know.

I forgot....did you do spring/shock or coilovers yet? You should really start there. Suggest somthing with var. damper and/or ride height and higher rate springs.
