Default Installed PIAA foglights *PICS*

Hey guys and girls. I installed some PIAA foglights about a month ago in the little holes beside the lower grille. I'm just getting around to taking pictures of them (figured I might as well when I finished washing my car)...

Here are the pictures (sorry, it is a little dark but I think you can see what it looks like anyway):

I didn't order the factory foglights because I think they are too big and I don't like the placement. I think these look good.

Also, bonus pic of sirius satellite radio:

Let me know what you think.

Good choice of fogs, I'd like to see some pics of them in the daylight too. Way to go.

Can you change the bulb to a different color? I was thinking about these but they seem too small, BTW are those stock bulbs you have?

Actually they were these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-P...spagenameZWDVW

I won't be home during the day anymore until maybe Friday. I have to fly down to FL Wednesday and come back Thursday evening. Maybe I can get some daytime pics friday.

I hope this isn't too far off topic, but here's what I'm working on right now. It's going to hold a Solobaric L5 8" sub. It will go on the drivers side of the hatch area near the rear. This is just the rough mold. I still have to cut it, mount the baffle, stretch the fabric, and glass the whole thing. Then I'm covering it with grey carpet to match the rest of the area.

How do you have them wired up? Do the parking lights have to be on or do you have them directly connected to an "always on" source where you can turn them on at will? Where did you put the switch (next to the steering wheel I'm assuming...) If it's possible, can you get a shot of the light on the ground from the drivers seat with just the headlights on and then with both the driving lamps and the headlgihts on?

Nice! Im looking to do the same on my Azure Pearl TC with PIAA 1400X lamps. I Had the 1100X's on my jeep and they are very bright and look hot with the chrome trim but the 1400's have a better shape I think for the TC.

nice fog lights......theyre the same ones I had on my Mazda6.

I actually still got them but since I got the factory fogs I have no use for them...
Overall I was very happy with those fog lights

1) I have them wired into the headlights so they stay on anytime the headlights or the high beams come on.

2) I forgot about the switch. I can turn them off when the headlights are on with this switch:

3) I can get the shot you requested, but not tonight. It will probably have to be Friday. My apologies for that. They really don't put out a whole lot of light past what the headlights emit. They light up the sides a little more but mostly they are just for looks. They would probably have better performance if I aimed them higher but they are really bright and I'm afraid they would blind oncoming drivers. The product manual says that they are only to be used with highbeams too. I just wanted the look of foglights mainly. The stock headlights produce plenty of light.

Ha, no way man... I hate working on this stuff. Just make it yourself. It's really easy. I will have at least 60 bucks in materials alone on just that one too. I'm only doing one side. I don't need a lot of bass. Just enough to be musical. On the passenger side I think I am going to mold an amp rack into the other little cubbyhole, mounting the amp on a sheet of frosted plexiglass that is illuminated by a couple of blue LED tubes inside the rack. I haven't totally decided on that plan yet though.

Nice setup man...

How prone are these to breaking? Price to replace? Price and time to do the whole thing...

Thanks!

Not sure about the breakage propensity, but both lights, switch (which I didn't use - I bought my own switch), relay, and wiring was only $40 so if they break, oh well, buy a new one.

It took about a couple of hours to do it. Mostly because it was really cold out when I did it and it was a pain running the wires through the firewall. I ended up just drilling through and putting a grommet in there, which I can use also to run my power wire through when I get the amp installed.

Looks like you drilled into the bumper?

Is that really secure?

No, I forgot to mention that I used 3M double stick tape. You can't pull them off if you try.
