Default someone told me an 06 civic ex can beat a tC

I was told that a 06 civic ex can beat an 05 tC.

when i heard this from this guy, i knew he was lieing because he always says he can beat anyone (anyone he hates) or if he is really close to a friend, his friend can beat someone he isnt close to. if it seems reasonable to lose to a type of car, he stays quiet. so.. this is the story:

He told me his friend with an 06 civic ex can beat me. I am auto and the ex is stick.
I understand that but how can a tC with 160 hp twin cams lose to a 140 hp 06 civic ex with a single cam? Also, the tC has more potential than that ex cause we have 2.4 liters while the ex has 1.8 liters. I also got a cai and the civic is stock. I know this guy's ex really well. After i heard this, I thought to myself that he is trying to say that any auto tC will lose to an 06 civic ex that is stick. Im not trying to start any fights with ex owners or anything. just made me mad. so what do you guys think?

unless its just the sedan, it would eat you ...i raced the new si with a good driver driving the si then we swapped and let me tell you ...my tc schools the new si by about 2 car lengths ... i have cia/ s pipe-header/ colder spark plugs and a gutted interior

watch out the new hondas will be sitting on any auto tc out there

depends alot on what the new ex weight is and how its geared but knowing older civics (im not keen on any thing newer then an 00) it would stomp the crap out a tc with 140 hp but then again it probly is heavy as a tc now so i dont know

i would say its up to the driver becosue i know some locals whos names will remain un stated lol who have lost to stock f22 sohc accords with auto trannys and he had an auto tc with a intake lol no matter how good your car is if you cant drive it you can loose

the new si wont dust us , comes down to the driver, the gearing on that thing is made for like normal people that drive their cars not blow things the hell off the road lol

if your tc is gutsy and can really lay it down in the beginning , you can walk anything, i beat a jetta last night cause the _____ tried to pass me on a red light for no reason at all ....it was kinda cute lol

but then before i lined up with a 99 saleen and a 01 mustang, me and the saleen schooled the 01 mustang by um a bazillion and 5000000000 trillion car lengths , and i had the saleen it was neck and neck and i went to shift from 4th to 5th and pulling it out of gear i creeped had a nose on him, then i screwed up shifting to 5th ....so i got smoked but honestly i think i would have pulled on it in 5th ...

cars are cars it comes down to the drivers weather conditions road conditions , straight driving, lane selections and everything

you honestly need to take them to a track and race in controlled conditions otherwise dont post about it because its not worth talking about

cause if you want to see me school liek something with 500 hp off the line ....i know a red light i have timed to the nanosecond and i will school anything thats streetable off the line and through third gear because i know what lane is good and i have the timing down

ROAD RACING = FAKE CRAP and to many bs excuses and everything to go along with it ...unless your doing it in a closed off street race its not racing

Well after much debate I'll be doing my P&P, valve train, Flyweel + clutch, and if it comes out in time the quaife LSD. I currently have the magnafow exhaust. Don't know what it will run but I think with the mods commin up I'll be able to run high 14s.

with a lsd stock i think we could be close to a 14.9 its mainly the trouble of launching with all that tourq on one wheel (peg legged ___ car) but with the mods your talking about i would hope lower then a 14.9 posibly a 14.7 or lower if you can drive it right (witch im sure you can with your vast knowladge of race cars lol i love the sig)

I hope the guy above is boosted or raced one crap @$$ driver in that saleen.. either that or it was a mustang with saleen lookalike parts on it. A true saleen of that era will eat a stock tC's lunch any day, any how. By about 1.5 seconds actually. The newer ones by even more.

you are talking about the boosted saleen though (not saying any stang cant beat a tc with equal drivers) becosue other then the boosted saleen the others are crap just like most mustangs - the svo and gt500/350 and some others i might have left out

anyway. Back to the topic. No way would an 06 civic EX beat a tC manual or auto w/o mods. And it would probably take more than I/H/E to do it. Civic EXs dyno around 120 ish WHP. Weigh about the same as the tC w/o the torque. If it is auto it would definitly need a lot more than I/H/E.

The guy is just askin for it.. I say you give it to em. RAW!

P.S. Please do it safely, preferably on a track, AND if you absolutly have to. Make sure you can get a section of the road blocked off somewhere in a non populated area.

i am 100% sure the civic has a chance just based off the crap i have seen others loose to becouse they cant launch the tc

granted the tc is a _____ to launch but still that would meen the civic has a chance
