I am considering a purchase of a new car in about six months or so. I was liking the tC, but it didn't have side airbags, which I think are a good thing to have. I went to my local dealer's webiste, Scion of Riverside (California), and in the pricing list, I find this:

The link to this frame goes to what I assume is a Scion corporate site-punching in different numbers after "Dealer=" just changes the name of the dealer at the top of the screen but nothing else. So does the tC have side airbags as an option, or is this a mistake? If this is true, how come Scion.com and everywhere else doesn't mention it?

 

Yes, the side airbags are an Option. The only other options are manual/AT and the color. All others are accessories installed by dealer or at port.

Yes, side curtains are an option. We dealers have a portion of our website dedicated to customers that have already placed deposits on tCs and we have to specify whether side curtains are a desired factory option or not.

Cool. That made my choice for a new car that much easier. How come this hasn't been publicised? I've been looking up stuff of the tC for awhile now, and this is the first I've heard about it have side airbags.

 

side air bag topic was posted long time ago...only thing missing was the price.

As for factory option...what about foglights?

 

fog lights are added at the dealer. It is not a "factory" option because it does not come from the "factory".

 

foglights are accessories like the ground effects..
