Default intake void warranty?

I know i know i know --- this has been posted 100% billion times!! BUT - since the main topic we now have on SL is what voids the S/C warranty ....and an intake is one of those things .... has anybody actually had their dealer claim their engine problems on their intake ( non F/I )?

they can blame all they want... until they prove it though, they don't have any ground to stand on. Unless you drive thru a lake with a CAI and hydrolock the engine, an intake isn't going to be able to be blamed for anything.

I don't recall anybody ever posting that their warranty was voided because of their intake? so I will say no, they can't, and if they do try, they better have dam good proof.

No as they said they would have to be able to prove it. There are laws on being able to have aftermarket parts and the company having to prove those parts caused the failure.

The chances of an intake causing any sort of failure on an engine are 100000000000 to 1 unless you hydrolock it.

there was someone one this forum who hydrolocked their motor. but besides that i highly doubt that will void your warranty.

If you Hydrolock then yes your warranty is done. Other than that they can't tell you that. Since the Manguson/Moss warranty act has been pounded into everyones head for the last 2 years no dealer can pull that BS anyway. The only case of a warranty issue I've seen with an aftermarket intake was with StuGotti and his weapon R SRI. They "said" they "found" metal shavings in the engine.

Since it's not stated in the warranty that it will void you warranty with a aftermarket intake they can't void it. Beside TRD released their intake so I don't see too many dealers trying anything funny.
