Default carbon fiber hoods

i heard that some carbon fiber hoods don't fit the xb's exactly? has anyone else heard this. or, someone with a cf hood could you tell me how well yours fits? i was looking to get one.

(one of the cf hoods on ebay said that not all cf hoods fit exact and there was about a half inch or quarter inch gap on the sides)

I have heard (and seen) horror storys with carbon fiber hoods. Bad fitment--gaps etc. I think that I would purchase one from someone local who can guaranty the fit. Just my humble opinion!

most aftermarket hoods (carbon fiber) are hand-made and sometimes there is too little or too much material causing fitment issues...if ur looking into getting a CF hood check out my work www.absdynamics.com we offer very good quality CF products for scions, and i offer special discounts for forum members

have you used bbist? it seems like a good place to go "for the scion enthusiast, by the scion enthusiast"

if anyone actually has a cf hood and could tell me where they got it and if it fit properly or not that would be an added bonus, thanks.

yea, the whole site seems pretty legit and they seem to be all about the xb (hence the name of the site/company being bbist...)

whatever you do STAY AWAY FORM EBAY.

Unless it's a person selling their old one.

Steve of bBist is an outstanding guy--I would recommend him without reservation.

when it comes to carbon products you get what you pay for, so if the price seems too good to be true, then its a gamble you take. imho just buy from a vendor who you know sell quality product from quality manufactures.

when you say it doesn't fit, what do you mean it does not fit. like, which part of the hood does not fit properly and how.

I also go my hood from bBist.com, and on my hood on the left side it sticks up about 1/4 of an inch up, but you have to bee real close to even tell. Very nice hoods though. And Steve is a great guy to deal with.
