I did. I have the JDM hard rear parcel shelf. That makes the stock rear speakers all but useless and the stock system little more than a 2 speaker system.

I searched everywhere for a set of speakers that would fit in the rear doors without cutting any metal in the doors. The pictures of hotbox05 custom install show the only real place to mount in the rear door without cutting anything but the door panel.

After going to all the places that sell speakers I found most of the one SMALL enough to fit that area, did not come with grills.

The only one I found were these, and they fit perfect:

They sound pretty good for what they cost and they sure did make up for what sound I lost by adding the hard rear shelf. And for the stock system, they made it sound a little fuller.

to tell ya the truth what i would have done would have been to cut myself some speaker rings for some 5.25 components and then lay down tape in that whole indent in the door, then do a layer of tin foil on that with some pva mold release, then do like 3 layers of glass, pop out the panel and trim it to clean up the edges, then mount the rings for the speaker and tweeter to the popped out glass piece and wrap that with some 4 way stretch spandex like material, 3 more layer of glass on the front then sand fill repeat until smooth, then paint to match exterior. then you can mount the piece to the panel with screws or a heavy duty abs plastic adhesive like a duramix 4040 or similar.

thats my long 2c but its just how i would do it.
