Default Anybody else have this problem?

My XB is such a pain to fill up at gas stations. It seems I have the get the pump in there just right and then I have to go slowly. I ALWAYS have to hold it b/c it keeps clicking off like it would if it were full, but it isn't.

Does anyone else have that problem?

Yeah! It's almost like there's too much curve or slant or something inside the tube and it's causing the gas to slush around so much the machine thinks the tank is full when really it's just the gas being tossed around. It really ticks me off

yea it must be, because my 06 doesn't do it, I think it also has to do with the pressure the gas is flowing in the hose does go nearly straight down though

See this:

And go to your dealer. They swapped mine out and it made a huge difference.

My 05 did do it but i got a new gas tank and fill pipe on warranty. I hate that you have to go looking for TSB's. Dealers should make you aware even if they do get a few people asking for warranty work they don't need. I went in and told the dealer about the TSB and he acted like i was trying to hustle him into getting free work done. I was like "yeah man, what i just said, the pump keeps stopping!" I understand it's not a recall but deezam.

I used to work at a gas station. Most of the time it's air in the tank from topping it off too much.

I have the same problem sometimes.
I have found that if you angle the nozzle, so that the handle is pointing at the back of the car it doesn't happen at all!

After checking the NHTSA website for a TSB on this issue Im seeing we can also get our fuel injectors cleaned for free. I might have to take advantage of that during my next oil change....
