Default racing with auto

Does any body know what the hell is this mean by saying brake... how does it go?

"""the racing with auto goes...for the launch just put it in D and brake and then gas up to 3k rpms and then once the flag is waved let go of the brake and leave it in D and floor it; the car will automatically shift at redline"""

try putting it on 1st and shift it from there its been 2 years since me and my cousin have been doing that and believe you feel an enormous difference your tranny wont blow if you shift it right these trannies are made for that your gears are longer so off the whole on a power break on first with no tire spin your a beast of torque guaranteed race any manual like that and find out they are going to ask you to race them on a roll the second time...lol

i think what it means is that before the flag is waved, keep your foot on the brake pedal and rev the car continuously until the guy waves the flag...once the flag is waved let go the brake pedal and floor it....word of advice, dont race with an automatic transmission...so not worth it..

yeah but with a automatic transmission you cannot miss a shift like you can with a manual tranny and with an auto its always constant with its shifts

THATS NOT ENTIRELY TRUE NOT WHEN THE SCION COMES WITH AN ECT TRANNY YOU REV AT THE SAME RPM BUT YOU HAVE ON LESS GEAR THAT MEANS THE AUTOS FIRST 2 GEARS ARE LONGER WHICH HELPS IN A 1/8TH MILE TRACK OR 1/4 MILE TRACK BECAUSE WE HAVE NO TIRE SPIN . I AGREE IF SOMEONE OUT THERE KNEW HOW TO DRIVE A MANUAL PERFECTLY WE WOULD PROBABLY LAUNCH THE SAME AND HE WOULD NEED GOOD TIRES. ON A ROLL MANUAL IS A BAD ___ RIDE ESPECIALLY STREET WISE. I HAD A 2004 COROLLA S MANUAL WITH A CELICA GT-S MOTOR AND TRANNY AND IT WAS AN AWESOME CAR TILL IT WAS TOTALLED.

torque braking WILL eventually kill your transmission. You're putting a lot of heat and stress on the tranny that it wasnt designed for handling.

Also, putting the car in 1 isn't going to do anything for you. If anything, its more unnecessary shifting, and more wear and tear on the transmission. Humans are not able to outshift computers, so just let the computer shift for you. I can not think of 1 reason why someone would keep the car in 1 when drag racing or anything similiar.

ON AN AUTO SCION ONLY THE TC YOU CAN CONTROLL THE SHIFT TRUST ME I I KNOW IF YOU POWER BREAK ON AN AUTO EVERYTIME YOU RACE WHICH IS WHAT MAYBE 3 TIMES A MONTH OR 4 YOU WONT KILL THE TRANNY MANUAL TRANNIES ON THE TC'S HAVE GONE OUT QUICKER THEN THE AUTO'S ILL TELL YOU THIS MUCH A POWER BREAK SHOULD NOT BE USED EVERYDAY BUT U CAN USE IT SAFELY ON THE TC IVE USED IT FOR 1 YEAR AND A HALF ANDM Y CAR STILL FEELS LIKE NEW JUST GET UR TRANNY FLUID CHANGED EVERYTIME YOU GET AN OIL CHANGE AND YOUR GOOD TO GO . REMEMBER THE TC CAME WITH A SPORTSHIFT AUTO NOT ANY REGULAR AUTO YOU CAN SHIIFT AND CONTROLL YOUR RPMS WHEN SHIFTING READ UP ON TOYOTAS ECT TRANNY ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED TRANSMISSION AND WHY IT GIVES USER AN EDGE TO DRIVE THE AUTO TC IF YOU NEED ANY INFO IN HOW TO TUNE YOUR AUTO LET ME KNOW ILL WALK YOU THROUGH . ok, so youre telling me a transmission is has been abused for a year and a half is going to be in better condition that a transmission that hasnt been abused?

I am yet to see a manual transmission blow up. Of course the clutch will go, but not the actual transmission.

Do you know what ECT does? It does a few things. It remembers how the user drives, finding the best shift points. It also has hillgrade logic.

There is no "sportshift" in the tC. The lower gears are for towing and/or snow.

Please let me know how you are "tuning your auto".

And if you want to go fast, why not just floor it. Like i said before, and anyone who knows anything about auto trannys will tell you that its not healthy for the transmission to be used like that. If you don't believe me, fine. I would like to know what your transmission is holding up after 80k miles or so.

if i have this car past 60000 miles shoot me ..... lol my tranny is still in good shape its been a year and a half and my car has 21000 miles on it if you plan on buying a car and keeping it after 60000 miles sure i wont recommend anything not even flooring your car or speeding how to tune an auto
1. first you need a 128 bit ecu off the camry because scion ecu are crap and they reboot themselves (lets you tune your car with out resetting)
2.always poor full synthetic oil(2hp gain)
3.the basics intake headers and exhaust like i said dont overdue the piping unless your boost 2 1/4 is fine (14-18hp gain)
4.ZPI crank pullley you can get it off turbokits.com(4hpgain)
5.camcon makes a vvti controller which control your cams air and fuel (430.00)tunning system
6.ingalls stiffy engine damper
7.spark plug coil to wire conversion kit (3-8hp gain)

youll be depending on how your car is tuned at about 189-192 bhp all motor

best ive seen is my friends tc 189 whp tq and 194 whp
