Default Cavalier vs tC..

You know what's kinda silly...
The stock 2.2 Ecotec Cavalier (auto) has 140 hp, I think tq is like 150 I dunno either way how is it , that it seems to be so fast?

Well not fast quick is a better word, what makes that Ecotec to much better than the tC's 2.4? And those engines can take a beating.

Quick Google told me that the 0-60 is in the mid 8s....some versions are even slower.

I dunno much about the Cavalier, but I'm seeing 11sec 0-60 on one version of the Cav.

No way the Cav is faster than a tC even a 5-speed Cav won't beat a tC. My friend in my car club has got one it's auto but he's got like intake and exhaust
(we call it the killa Cav lol) and he raced my friends auto RSX and got crushed so if we crush auto RSX's than forget about the Cav.

Cavaliers are about as slow as a Dodge Neon. They're horses**t not horsepower. Ugly things too

2004 2.2 Ecotec

Take a look at it seriously.
I had a 2002 Firebird, just a v6 with exhaust and intake and he didn't beat me but he wasn't no car length behind,
I can get a video and show you, I'm telling you it's quick, and I'm talking about an auto.

Only way he'd beat cars like the tC would be from weight. Didn't have time to check the weight, but if a Cav can beat all the cars you mentioned, then it would be cause its lighter.
Oh yeah, I beat a stock 350z with my boosted tC, only at 6 psi putting probably like 240-250 whp by 3 car lengths. How about that for getting handed to ya.

Firebird huh? Was it a WS6? Those are listed at 4.9 sec 0-60.

Was the Cav modded? Because there is no way a stock Cav is going to be that fast. Even the supercharged Cobalt only runs a 6.1.

I had an 03 Cavalier for 2 years before I traded it in to get my tC, Cavalier was definitely slower.

Did 03 Cavs have the Ecotec? Serious question. I don't think they did.

EDIT: I just looked it up myself and I was wrong. The '03's do have the Ecotec.

I'm not saying they are quick. But they are fairly lightweight. Like 2600 lbs I think. I've got a 98... no Ecotec. An auto Ecotec should be close to an auto Z24 of the previous body style. Should be mid 7's 0-60 (manual) and 8+ (auto)

Yeah it had Ecotec. Same engine that is in the Saturn Ion's.
Cav's are lighter but based on when I first test drove a tC while I still had the Cavalier it seemed quicker.

I dunno it's been a while though.

The Cav will beat the tC any day, but not by much.

Just crunching some numbers, most Cavs are looking at about a 18.7 lbs to hp while tCs are looking at something like 18.2 lbs/hp. When that little separates the two, I could hardly say a cav will beat a tC "anyday." Even with the tC edging out over the regular Cav by a little bit, I'd still call it a driver's race, through and through. The Cav with 150 hp makes about a 17.4 lbs/hp. That'd be a more convincing argument.

Yes, calculator racing. But that'll do unless someone wants to get out and race a Cav monday through sunday.

I'm pretty sure the WS6 was a 5.6L Trans-Am, Same body as the Firebird, but diff engine, like the diff between the Mustang and the Cobra(mustang)
