Default Former Corolla owners?

Any former Corolla owner's?

I've recently purchased an 05 Corolla LE. It's a fine little car, but I've already had occasions that I wished I had more room.

I know comparing a Corolla to an xB is like comparing apples to oranges, but I was hoping some former Corolla owner's who now own xB's could provide some insight into their experiences using the xB as a daily driver after owning a Corolla

i own a 99 corolla and had a 95 before the xB. the xB is nice, but don't expect tons of power. the corolla doesn't have a lot either, but it is less then the corolla. the xB is great for the room.

So, you don't think it would be a big "step down" going from the Corolla to an xB?

no. i went from an matrix xrs to the xB. even bigger step down, but the xB is what it is. a cruising car with a lot of room.

Make sure you test drive the xB over many types of road conditions...smooth roads, really bad bumpy roads, etc. It is rougher than most stock cars. Wind and tire noise, it has a rather flat front end :D and ofcourse the stock goodyear tires are loud. I've owned a 98 Corolla and a '01 Camry (4cyl). Those two have softer suspension than the xB. But I'll take the xB anyday compared with the Rolla and the Cammy.

Also during the test drive, turn off the radio if the salesman turns it on. They know that the xB makes louder than typical stock exhuast noise. Thus some turn it on so the people wont notice and so they wont lose any sales.

BTW, the xB reminded why I liked the Corolla the best compared to the Camry. The Rolla is smaller and fun to dive into the corners than the big boat Camry.

http://www.cardomain.com/id/eatm0nster

that was my car before i parted it apart and bought my xb.
the only noticeable difference is the lack of torque. but i'm a lot happier with my xb than i ever owuld be with my corolla s.

i think honestly. people who pick the xb are picking it for specific reasons whether they love the styling like the interior or what not. the new corollas have humongous ___ trunk space btw.

the corolla also got a little better gas milage with the same driving. could go to 85 -90mpg at very close to 3200 rpms w/ the auto.

i think that no matter how many times i do things over. i will always be happier with my xb. but the corolla was nice if you weren't gonna mod it at all :p

I just purchased an 05 Corolla LE, after replacing a V8 Dodge Ram P/U which got 11 mpg/city. So far I've been getting mid 20's with the Corolla @ 95% city driving. I think the xB will do that.

The trunk space on the Corolla is pretty spacious, but I detail cars for a hobby and my supplies fill up the trunk. I think the xB's space and mpg will fit my needs better.

i have had many Corolla's ('82, '90, '94, '95, '98, '03) I had the '03 and traded it in on the xB. i was kind of worried about the lack of power that the xB has. but with the mods that i've done, i am quite pleased with the power or the xB. as far as the ride goes, it is about the same as my '03 Rolla (springs). i am happy with the change i made. :D

I believe the xB has a little more demanding maintenance schedule than the Corolla.

For example, the Corolla has 100k spark plugs while the xB scheduled spark plug change is at 30k.

i had a 90 prizm, same as corrola. i loved that car, it had almost 150k miles when i got it and i would get almost 40mpg. i drove it for 60k miles and never had any problems with it except the exhaust manifold always cracking. and the fact that the front windows didnt roll up right anymore. had to handguide them up.

but i like my xB just as much. its a lot nicer than the prizm for me.

I had an pair of '87 novas. Loved that car. The hatchback got 42 mpg highway. 74bhp I think that's why I liked the xB so much. The new corollas are more plush than they were in '87, so you'll notice that difference. But I think of the xB as my newer nova

The dealership that I bought my xB from gave me a loaner Crapolla while they fixed a few issues I had with the paint (had some scratches when I bought it), I absolutely hated driving that car, it was a 04 SE. I'm 6'4" and banged my head everytime I got in and out until I started going in head first and out ___ first. Had way less room and comfort than the 03 Civic Si that I traded in on the xB.
