i know scion made some slight engine changes in 07, but the trd exhaust sounds sooo different on the 07. i have compared them side by side. the 06 is deeper, sounds much closer to a wrx, and louder! both are well broken in and thats their only mod for the exhaust. strange, eh?

hmmmm yes indeed, not much of a fan of the TRD exhaust anyways! any other variables? intake, piping, anything like that?

ya man, i noticed the exact same thing browsing videos online and i think the main reason is the header. I put an '06 OEM header on my '07 and its really deep now, maybe not exactly like the '06, but really close.

i noticed the exact opposite

when i had just the TRD muffler on my 07, it was deeper and louder than my friend's 06 tC with only a TRD muffler

 

ya im pretty sure i noticed mine and an 06 were the same tone....both just muffler. maybe you guys dont know how to rev

 

Anybody take a psych class before? If I tell you it sounds like the 07 is louder your way more likely to hear it that way. And vice versa. They are the same. (Plus every car is slightly different. You said they were boh well broken in, if they were driven drastically different it may result in a slight tone difference.)

nope, not in my head. i dont own either of the cars, and dont really care which is louder ect. just thought id see if this was something other people noted.
