OK, I have decided to get vertical doors on my Tc, but before I spend the money, I was wondering if I could get some advice on them from people that have/have had them. Please, leave the ricer/queer comments outta this, I think they are awesome and could care less about any one else's opinion lol.

Its harder to get in the tC but its worth it. Alot of people think its played out but most people either cant afford to do it or they dont like

I love mine. I got the JT BONN kit. Yes, you do have to worry about alignment or you can slam the door into the jam, hear wind, yada yada. I just took mine to a body shop and had them install it. But yes, the doors limit the distance you can get in and out of the car, roughly about a 2 foot gap. Any questions you have about them, let me know! I'll be glad to take pics of he hendges, anything you need, I'll take pics and show you! And yeah, it's a HUGE headturner... At times, a pain in the ****, but well worth it!

Also, you GET what you PAY for. In other words, spend the extra money.

*Cough* ricer/queer*Cough* Haha just kidding, referencing your first post. One thing that i hear, is that the doors can't handle the weight very well and will start to bend the door. You have to get a really good kit with a big enough mount to evenly distribute the weight so the doors don't crimp. I don't have a kit so i don't know this to be true for a fact, i have just heard it before

our doors are heavy as hell..

never seen a kit yet that wasn't really stable... they'll all wobble in the wind... even the VDI kit, which is supposedly, supposed to be the best one.... though i dunno.

Yes, they all wabble, but to a certain point. You got to remember, these doors go out, then go up. There is that certain small point of play it's going to have due to that. But it's not a drastic wabble though. I personally would not recommend driving with them up, nor leaving them up on a terribly windy day. I imagine THAT could damage the doors/henges.

When I was looking at them I read alot and researched which one I would get, however I didn't go through with it for various concerns and money was a factor..but Id go with JT or VDI and you would probally be very happy.

how many different manufacturers offer the vertical doors that open normally at first, then up? so then you don't have to "use" your verticals if you don't want to...

i'd get those, so for everyday use i'd just stay horizontal, then maybe at crowded places i'd go vertical, muahahahaha

I would only suggest VDI or JTBONN...

www.verticaldoors.com
www.jtautostyle.com

With the JT's, you will probly have to order them from a custom shop.. Can't exactly order them on their website... But you can find other sites that sell theirs.
