People really aren’t hesitating to bring the FR-S to the race track. In fact, this pretty blue and white coupe is the GT4 racing version that’ll be competing in the European GT4 championship come May.

Motorsport Group GPRM has teamed up with Nicholson McLaren to develop the Subaru flat-four into 400hp, turbocharged powerhouse. STI owners might be familiar with these kind of numbers, but they’re doubly exciting when you put them in a lightweight car like the FR-S. The tuners are no slouches either. Nicholson McLaren have been building race motors since the 70s. They’ve even built a few for their namesake F1 team.

Personally, I can’t wait to see this thing on the track mixing it up with Porsches, Astons, and other sports cars. It’s been quite some time since Toyota has competed in sports car racing like this. It’s not quite a works effort for Toyota, but they’re providing technical support. Toyota competes pretty regularly in Japan’s GT300 and GT500 classes, but they’ve stayed out of European championship until now.
