BTCC Champion Jason Plato Tests Toyota GT86

By -

British Touring Car Championship winner Jason Plato has done many cool things, between being an active racing driver for the past 20 years to being a host of British motoring program Fifth Gear. Today’s Internet video of choice is a look back to when Plato reviewed the European-spec Toyota GT86 for Fifth Gear.

Plato really seems to enjoy driving the 86. He praises the chassis balance, seats and drivetrain setup, including crucially the car’s factory-equipped limited slip differential, which really allows him to slide the car around. Despite saying that it’s lacking a bit in power, Plato confirms that the hype around the car was justified, and that the GT86 is definitely a driver’s car.
