Ekanoo Racing’s GT86 Runs 9-Second Quarter Miles

It seems like every day, we talk about how Toyota dropped the ball with the FR-S and BRZ twins. Not so much in the handling and looks department, but rather in the power department. 160 wheel horsepower just isn’t enough to keep enthusiasts happy. The car begs for more power, and that’s why we’ve seen so many turbo, supercharged, and swap options for the car. It’s just not good enough without more power.

Thankfully, as mentioned before, we have a fairly extensive aftermarket and race scene, which just loves the chassis and body of this car. And they’ve been more than hard at work creating unbelievably fast versions of the FR-S and BRZ twins.

Take, for example, this black GT86 from Ekanoo Racing. Now, many of you might already have heard of Ekanoo, they’re the ones that built the strictly drag racing GT86 a few months ago using a funny car platform. Well, now they’re back with a street legal GT86 that’s had a 2JZ swap. Let’s just say, because of that swap, the car is extremely fast. We’re talking about a street legal 9-second car. Just watch.
