GT86 Road Car Versus Fensport GT86R Race Car

GT86

The humble GT86 has been around now for quite some time. It’s a brilliant car, and has the ability to be adapted to a multitude of situations and needs.

For instance, Dirt Fish Rally School has built a turbo GT86 that is gearing up to take the overall championship for Rally North America. At least it will be once they stop shunting it!

The GT86 also makes a great drift car, as shown by the likes of Ryan Tuerck and his fellow Formula Drift racers that have all stuck anywhere between 800 and 1,200 horsepower into the small rear-wheel drive coupe.

What the car also has going for it is the fact that it can be turned into an absolute monster of a racecar, as Fensport has done with their GT86R.

The Fensport GT86R has over 500 horsepower, sticky tires, no interior, and is an honest to goodness racecar. But Auto Express wanted to see just how much faster the racecar is than a stock GT86. So, as you can see in the video below, they rung up their local track, rented it out, and set some times. Take a look.
