Scion FR-S Twin versus Volkswagen GTI

We’ve seen a battle like this before when Motor Trend and European Car pitted the Scion FR-S against the Volkswagen GTI at Willow Springs. In that battle the Scion was 2.3 seconds slower around the track than the GTI. I’m pretty sure the Scion’s slower lap time can be blamed on the driver … I mean, a front-wheel drive hatchback beating a lightweight rear-wheel drive sports car? Give me a break.

Check out the video below to see if the Subaru BRZ can redeem its twin brother’s earlier performance … because if it doesn’t, there is a gaping hole in the laws of physics.
