Toyota 86 (Scion FR-S) by Tada Prototype Home

As fantastic as the Toyota 86/Scion FR-S is, Toyota isn’t resting on its laurels. In the spirit of constant improvement, the automaker has introduced the Toyota 86 by Tada, a prototype developed by chief engineer Tetsuya Tada that’s basically a regular ZN6 with a handling package.

Specifically, the Tada treatment adds 18-inch forged BBS wheels wrapped in a custom set of Dunlops. The suspension’s damper settings are also given a bit of a tinker, but sadly, Tada’s touch ends there.

We wish we could say, “Ta-da, this car has 268 horsepower,” but it doesn’t. It still makes do with 200 horsepower and 151 lb-ft of torque.

Toyota says there are no plans to turn this prototype into a production model, but we hope they do because this car looks fun.

See how Tada’s upgrades affect the 86 in the video below.
