Our '03 Camry had the exact same codes. Ended up finding the Vacuum Switching Valve(VSV) had a broken plastic hose barb, allowing a decent sized vacuum leak. Camry ran perfect with the leak too...and made no noise. $45 at oreilly auto, reset the computer and the CEL hasn't been on since. Just an idea. VSV was most likely broken by someone messing with/replacing the air filter.

Im going to try the easy stuff first. Going to first order a new gas cap.

Ok just put on the new gas cap. Going to get the CEL reset now. One thing i did notice, where we put the gas pump into the fill neck, is there suppose to be a flapper at the end (like my old car) or is it suppose to just be an open hole like i have below in the pic

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dfj-F...42382&index=23

Also if anyone could show a engine with what major hoses could cause this that would be great. I am not really that familiar with the entire EVAP system. I did look at all the hose around the intake and everything seems to be ok.

Not sure if this helps narrow things down but the idle is a little rough. It's idles a little higher than normal on the RPM. I am guessing maybe there is a vacuum leak somewhere. Still waiting to see if codes come back after new gas cap.

Well again for future searchers , replacing the gas cap with a new OEM cap seems to have solved my problem. Its been a week, 350+ miles, multi fills and still no light.

Hopefully this doesn't jinks myself again lol.

good news!! glad to hear you got it fixed! yeah i've had to replace my gas cap before the CEL ever came on. Was noticing the rubber gasket on the cap was flattening out, looks like it flattens every 2 or so years. And replaced it before it caused a leak. but glad you got yours fixed

mine comes on every once in a while, then goes off. I live in jersey and they dont tighten it up enough most of the time... also a friend had told me that it may be the oxigen sensors that is causing it, b/c it goes on and then off... especially on long road trips or sudden temp. change

just my .02

Try what i did.

Re-tighten the cap.
New cap.

Cheap quick remedies first.

Mine has never come back since replacing the cap with an OEM cap.

Go to autozone and get the code pulled for free.

I went with the OEM to be sure. The trdsparks cap was like 30-31 bucks shipped. The cap from the stealership was 35 and they had it in stock so i just pick it up from them. I didn't feel like waiting.

i also got the 0441 and 0455 codes. i did replace the air filter myself a few months ago. if i broke something i would probably have realized it at the time. also i did not know there was a valve to break in there?

im going to replace the gas cap and see what happens.

I pull the P0456 code. I replaced the gas gap. After driving over 300 miles the next day. The CEL is still on. Is the code suppose to go away by itself? I disconnected the battery cable for few hr today. I hope the CEL will not come back on.

It can take 2-3 days before the code resets itself. You can also go to autozone and reset it yourself for free if you can't wait.

my P0456 small evap leak was cause by a cracked tube

this tube is connected to Vacuum Switching Valve(VSV) at the engine bay.

The 2 ends of this tube is different size. 1/4 and 5/16 of inch. I bought 2 tubes, 4 clamp rings, and an adapter from Advance Auto Parts.
I replaced this tube 7 days ago. i drove over 400 miles. The CEL finally go out today.
