Default Lighting Update 11-12-11 - LED DRLs

first i just wanted to say thanks to Druidiron and MightyP for all their help and their own DIY guides and tests

they are from superbrightleds and i followed the guide here: https://www.scionlife.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=204760

I have a switch...but i dont like it so i just made it continuous for now until i get a better switch

i did it MightyP style by doubling up the LEDS...but with my own little twist...

so here is how it turned out!

=====
Sticker Update....i had some extra time so i thought id change up my sticker lineup again to add in some more Scion Evolution support

Maaaan I'm not sure what you did when you installed these, or if it's just the way your camera makes them look, but they look gooooooooood! Very clean and very OEM-y.

I second this opinion. Makes me want to go tear mine out right now, and redo them....

haha thanks!

well in person it looks more like separate LEDs (like dots)...kind of like the first photo. the other photos made it look solid i think because of the flash. i'll take more photos later

anyways...i dont feel like a DIY, but basically this is what i did to make it look like that...

i bought two of these: http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-b...cs%2FSWFLS.htm
really long right? well this is where MightyP's help came in....
i measured how long i needed for the headlight, then DOUBLED it...THEN cut the extra..which was only a little
then i took out about half of the clear plastic cover....folded the exposed LED strip and reinserted back into the renaming clear plastic cover (VERY HARD AND TIME CONSUMING!..also had to be careful not to mess up any of the LEDs on the strip)
then from there i put double stick tape on the modified LED strip then tucked it under the headlight

======
i bought a switch, but it doesnt fit and i dont want to mod the dash. i want to use the OEM fog light switch for these. does anyone have one i can buy? to know where can buy? or maybe if the dealership people can help me out with the part number so i can search for the exact part online?

Default Audio Upgrade 11-19-11 - OEM Audio+ Reference 400CF

I finally got the OEM Audio+ Reference 400CF ordered and installed in my tC2. and I LOVE IT! If anyone remembers the numbers OEM Audio+ threads that have been created then you can understand why I am not going to write a review on the system. The facts are that I love it and I think its the best system out there, well worth the price. this is the FIRST OEM Audio+ Reference 400CF installed with an aftermarket radio.

But I can review the DIY part of the install...
they did record the install to document the process from the side of a customer DIY, so in addition to install it...i had some interview questions..very exciting! the install took about 2hours and 30minutes...not bad

there are a lot of steps as far as removing panels and such, but nothing too hard. especially with our lego cars...haha...just sometimes it felt like i was almost going to break it. removing everything is completely necessary to make the install very clean....keeping the nice stock look.

the most complex part was probably drilling out the old rivets of the 6x9 speakers and riveting in the new ones. it was my first time doing that...but not very hard at all. other than that there was the process of getting the wire through the firewall. if anyone has done the Audi light DIY...there is a better (and safer) way to get through! there is basically an area in the grommet that needs to be cut on the engine side and then there is already a hole on the inside. check out their manual to see what i am talking about...i will be redoing my Audi lights as soon as i have a chance. Also I found out the speakers OEM Audio+ uses are manufactured from the same company that makes the speakers for McLarens

any more questions feel free to let me know. or drop some Qs on their FB page. http://www.facebook.com/oemaudioplus

here are some good photos from the install

and some more behind the scenes photos from the video they shot...

john, you just gotta save up like i did. its completely worth it!

also...
when the installed was complete and the video taping was basically done...the mail came and guess what arrived...
white plasti dip...try an guess for what
and..Nathan at IMPORTequipment came through with the Scion letters for the emblems! So if the weather is good...I will work on my emblems tomorrow and test out the letters. if it all works out, they will go on sale ASAP and you guys can finally get that clean custom emblem look and not worry about painting!
