Default 19k for 2003 lancer evo?

is that a good deal? the evo has about 39k on it and i was thinking of trading my 07 tc with 28k. Would this be a good trade? also is it worth the value of the evo?

ok this is kinda confusing.... just becuase i have been thinking of doing the samething... but what you have to consider... is the evo is not a good daily driver like the tC is. but yeah if its what you want do it.... i would love an evo myself

but yeah its a good deal..... leather or cloth?

yeah its a pretty good price if it is in excellent condition. your looking around saving 2k under the value of it. and no, its not an even trade, your tc is not worth the same amount of the Evo, your tC is probably worth 15k at most, but thats funny though. ^^ (value of Evo)

have fun with almost 5$ a gallon gas. If they strait trade you it may be worth it.

With the experiences I've seen from a few friends of mine that got used EVOs it was not worth it at all. All of them were hot rodded and beat down. One didn't last the guy 5k miles.

well when i said worth the value of an evo, i was talking about the 19k pricing on it. I wasn't sure if an 03 evo was worth that price. And yes the gas for the car would be bad but im really looking to get an evo or sti cause im tired of my tc.

now is soooo not the time for a car that needs premium only. let alone the gas mileage.

you will get roughly 17-18 mpg if you dont drive it too agressively. And pay for premium. But the big gotcha with teh Evo is that they are not very reliable and if the prior owner drove it hard, you will be paying out the nose to fix issues with it in the future. Trust me i have a WRX i purchased wi 32k mi used and the prior must have ragged it out because mine is failing at a higher rate than my friends. And the WRX is far more reliable than an EVO. Love the EVO but i would stay away.

Its hard buying a used car like that because chances are the owner beat the ____ out of it.

However I disagree saying the car is a bad DD. I had a WRX for over a year before finacially I couldn't support gas+insurance+other factors (not to mention bored of modding it) and it was the PERFECT dd.

Anything that is fast can be a fun DD. I personally dont car if the ride is too harsh and i prefer that. So Evo as a daily driver, hell yeah. As a road trip car... hell no. But atleast it has a big back seat

Consider that Mitsubishi car's don't last very long typically. They aren't very well made. Add to this that the Evo is a car that you don't just buy to take grandma to church in on sundays......likely the owner, even if they maintained it well, drove it into the ground.

It might have a Blue Book value of 19k (which is another thing you should look up online), but that doesn't take into account the fact that there could be hidden structural damage.

Also, and this goes for buying used cars in general, when you buy used, you are, essentially, inheriting someone else's problems. Be it fuel effeciency, damage, insurance, repairs......etc.

they give you $12k, you owe $9k (12-9=3) you'll have $3k to do whatever. in the end, you'll gain more power, but spend more on insurance, gas and maint. probally not worth it unless is necessary at the moment and you have the money for it.

depending on how much you owe from the tC that will be included in the evo so basically you will be negative and will owe more than 19k for the car.

I say do it..honestly i sat in Evos and they are great cars. Good looks and great handling. My buddy picked up his Evo for 17 and it had around 75,000 miles on it. Lots of miles but it still runs great. I have driven it and that thing pulls hard. My take on Premium gas? Umm you gotta pay to play..plus whats 20 cents more? Your really only gonna say 3 or 4 dollars.

The top 4 auto makers for reliability are currently 1) Honda 2) Toyota 3) Subaru 4) Mitsubishi. Read consumer reports sometime.

^true, if you want to turbo a tc you have to still pay for premiumso it really isn't much of a difference, as for handling and performance..hands down for the EVO (stock).

I loved having my WRX, when I needed to I knew I could get ahead of a car or get out of the way. Not to mention in the snow it was a DREAM.

My WRX had KYB AGX Adjustable struts, I had the rears set at 3 and front at 2, it had nearly NO give to it, but I loved it. And it was a blast on road trips.
