Default 2004 civic si hatchback

im considering trading in my xA for a last generation Civic Si Hatchback, preferably an 04 with low miles if I can find one. Just wondering if anyone has owned/driven/ridden in one and what your impression was?

id be trading in the xA in the spring once its payed off, but want to know if this car is worth getting hyped about, i love the hatchback style but want something faster than the scion, i havent gotten a chance to test drive one yet

Stock for stock you won't beat the tC.....but again, this could also be due to drivers. But from my experience in racing my friend's 01 Si hatch, I had him stock by about .5-.75 length. Not a big win, but a win. My modded tC gets him by 1-1.5 lengths now easily. It is a nice an comfortable little hatch and power potential is definately there. Just would have been better if they started with it in the first place.

From xA to Si Hatch, I would say go for it. IMO.

I drove an 04 si and I would get a TC instead. Trust me..you'll feel like your driving a bean on wheels.

Not a fan of the Civic Si hatch myself. I'd say wait for the new Scions to come out then look at your choices.

I'm not sure but I think you can get them cheap due to their lack of popularity.

I own an 04 Honda Civic Si Hatchback along with my tC. I would say when it comes to power, the tC takes the dice. The Si has a lot of potential and its a great place to start. I woud say if you were going from a tC to an 04 Si, keep the tC. But if youre going from an xA to a Si, get the Si. The ride is very comfortable and the thing that I love about all hondas is the steering. Feels like your driving a cloud.

i have an 06 si and its one hell of a car!! if you can afford those, i would highly reccommend it. now for the older hatch models, ive never driven one. i do like the hatch styling, but the stock engine is kinda slow for an "Si". and the ONE reason i wouldnt get it is because of where the shifter is located!!! Thats gonna take some time getting used to

If I were you, i would look into a used RSX Type-S

Yeah, 07 there's no chance a stock tC would come close to a stock Si, but the old hatch styles of 01-04ish are easy.

Haha I race both of them and I dont know which one is faster I beat them both so bad I cant keep track. I wouldnt get the Si. It is ugly and ____ slow. It may have the potential to make a pretty cool little N/A engine, which the tC seems to be lacking, but it is still quite ugly.

About the poster's above me sig. I have a hrd time believing that. My buddie in a full bolt on tC got raped by a 1.8T 4 door passat.

It's all good. My buddy was chasing us in his 98 Hatch. He can testify to it so it's all good. Him, I and the driver of the Golf know what happened.

Should all be in my profile if I'm not mistaken. All the bolt ons except for suspension and clutch basically. My shifter seems to be a little shorter throw than some B&M ones I've tried out and definately the TRD shifter. Definately engages a bit faster. Driving ability is a big part, but I'm not going to blow my own horn.

i like the style and mechanics of the ep3
but as someone said above, tC to ep3 (mainly because those models have a couple of years on them already)
however, from a xA to ep3 is a nice upgrade

Regarding which is faster, tC or Si, I've heard it both ways. Si owners claim their car is faster and tC owners say their's is faster. I've personally been in my friend's base RSX (mechanically identical to the EP3 Si) while he beat a tC so i'm inclined to believe the Si is *slightly* quicker. And there's really no doubt the Si gets better gains from mods.

All that being said, I would agree with other people here that have said to look at other cars. You can probably find a used RSX for a similar price. And really, at the price point you're talking about, you should take the plunge on a new car. The 06 Civic Si, GTI, and Cobalt SS/ION Redline (you could probably get a real good deal on one of those this time of year, with GM incentives and the new MY coming out) are all much better alternatives.

That or go a little older and get a much better car. 300zx TT, GSX, Integra, VR-4, RX-7, 240sx, etc.

ive taken out many base rsx's with my tC..

my sister has a 2003 DC5 auto and me and her race all the time, i always beat her, EVERY TIME!!

i had only : I/H/E and she had a bone stock dc5.. well it had a spoiler and lip kit and leather.. but nothing as far as rims/performance goes, so i say the tC should be able to beat it.. also, both cars were auto so then again im not sure
