Homiez Just found out that my payment and Insurance would be only 5bucks more a month if I trade in the box.........opinions?
Looked into STI but like the $ door sedan better and Insurance on STI over double what Im paying now.

fyi, the STI's insurance will be a lot higher then a WRX, and the WRX STI is only available (rumor has it) in the 5 door (i used to work for subaru).

also the WRX itself is a really nice car and they are quick too!
but seriosuly tho its an awesome car and if you get one make sure to get the premium package not the base one, its def worth the extra money, and it looks feels a lot better then the base one.

 

i also looked at the STI and it is a lil more than double insurance for what i pay now...

my buddy has the WRX and u wont be dissapointed if u just get the WRX over the STI and u will be saving a ton of money on insurance and about 10-12 thousand on price of car!

 

^ true, plus the wrx is so easy to upgrade to the power of the STI, the only thing you would get with the STI that you wouldnt have with the WRX is the 6th gear. but the WRX;s 5 speed is solid, the clutch is nice and stiff and you can really feel it get into gear, i always liked when someone would come in to test drive one cus at my dealer the salesman always had to drive the car off the lot

 

^dealer just told me that 08 wrx has 6 speed?

 

they where mistaken, the WRX comes with a 5 speed. trust me on that. i have driven one many times and sat in it when it was slow because the seats where so damn comfortable

 

Im going on Monday to test drive, i hate it when sales people talk about things that they dont even know about. I should be like "Im here for the 08 6 Spd WRX....ya know they one you told me about on the phone?" and demand that I drive the 6 speed lol.

 

haha they would be all confused. i hope you got the salspersons name so you could tell their manager about that and say hey i know this person may be the greatest sales person but they need to learn their ****..

and btw once you test drive that bad boy your going to want to test drive it home and keep it

ask for a longer test drive tho, because i know some dealers have a short boring test drive. but if your area has windy roads and stuff ask to take it on those so you can test the handling of the car, they just changed the rear suspension on the car to a double wishbone in the rear and it rides and handles like a dream. also full HP and TQ comes in 800 rpm sooner then last years model and you can really feel it when you compair the two. its a lot of fun to drive.

hey k. ithink the new STi's are only 5door. the WRX (non-STi) still comes in both 5dr wagon and 4dr sedan.

 

sup adrian. yea i didn't read correctly. i don't like the sti wagons. that was the first time i seen the 08 4 door wrx. i like it alot.

 

I'm about to pay off my 05 tC and was looking around. I wanted an WRX before I got the tC, but it was out of my price range. Now I can afford even the STI, but when I checked the insurance and the WRX was just a little over what I pay now and the STI double? I was like okay maybe not the STI. Though the car that got me looking at the tC was the G35 coupe. I checked it for insurance and it is about the same as the WRX. So I'm stuck between maybe a four dour all will drive or a nice rear wheel drive coupe.

 

^I wanted a WRX before I got the tC too. I would go with the WRX imo. Its all-wheel drive. And it's not that hard to make it as fast as an STi...
