it's going to be available next year as an '09 model. it looks pretty nice. if i weren't determined to keep the tC as long as possible i might look into this one.

Eh doesn't look too bad. I drove a Corolla from 1996 to 2007 and it treated me very well, it just was boring as hell to drive. Wake me up when it has RWD and a faster engine...

If you click through the other pictures, it shows the non modified ones.
So yes it will be the next corolla. But the first pic shown is a new corolla hooked up.

I just traded my 04 corolla S back in july for my RS 3 and they are great cars. The XRS was real nice so it will be interesting to see if TRD and other aftermarket support get in line to support the new corolla and matrix.

As long as the interior is tall people friendly, unlike the current generation corolla, I'll be tradeing in my xA for a XRS 5speed in a heartbeat.....

You mean the new Camry 2.4L? Isn't the xB2 2.4L is a 4 speed automatic? I think the 2009 XRS has a 5 speed automatic like the current Camry 2.4L.

Thats different from what i've seen before, but I'd consider that a good thing. This new corolla looks pretty good imo.

The new corolla and Matrix look pretty sweet to me. Just the other day I was complaining about Toyota phasing out all Manual tranny's and then I read about this. Pretty cool, I say. Too bad the AWD matrix isn't a stick, or that the corolla gets awd. Either way, seeing as how the power plants are similar between scion and toyota, the aftermarket support should be there at launch, plus I think increase.

Looks great...but they probably won't release the car in the states with that look...they will probably modify it and take out the turbo.

aside from the wheels, FMIC and headlights, that is exactly how it will look. see my link above to the official toyota page for the car. oh yeah, the billet grille and lowered stance were added as well, but you get the idea.

rear reminds me of a mazda.
front reminds me of a solora mixed with a mazda

and why for the love of god is toyota putting the 2.4l in every car now? Its ridiculous. The camry, the tC, the new corolla with have it as an option and others are supposed to be getting it.

Its a big, under powered per liter, under powered period compared to many 1.8l+ 4 liters. Granted it can make power, but still. Its not even that great on gas mileage.

Sorry. im done ranting.

I just have to say, ew.
