Factor in depreciation, increased fuel consumption, insurance costs, and maintainenve/repair bills, and you'll change that figure considerably. If you really wanted to go domestic, you should have gone used. The depreciation makes their used cars an excellent value.

Hey Guys I do enjoy my purcahse...thank you

I have read these forums in an effort to learn more about my box.

I've learned alot...thank you

I loved my box until my wife teased me about driving a 4cyl.

So I did what any loving husband would do .....

Bought a V8 rustang.

Thanks for letting me have a littlr fun.

and for those of you eastern folks with scions ready to run see Subjet:

Not to hate on ya, but, you may have wanted to look ahead some and realize that gas is gonna be like $4/gal this summer. Sure, you will smoke me in a race, but I wont need a 2nd mortgage to keep me in wheels. If you can afford it, though, those new mustangs are sweet. Ford really did good by themselves to go with the 60s throwback style. From what Ive heard they are pretty nice on the inside as well.

Congrats.

Wow, you got a new car cause your wife teased you for having a 4 cylinder? I'd say oh well and keep driving my 4 cylinder. Enjoy crappy MPG!

Default I hear Ya

I was only getting 25mpg on the scion.
Which was way better than the 16 in my previos jeep.
I wish I could have afforded to keep my box but needed the trade.

I do 100miles/day@80-110mph = 25mpg

In stop and go I could get 30mpg.

Stangs tagged at 25mpg hwy loafs at 1500rpm

What will I drive when it snows?? yikes lol

I do have a few things from my box I'd like to sell.

Set of 4 Blizak Snow tires on steel rims Stock Sizes 6k miles

Volant Cool Air intake Kit with the optional ram air scoop kit
(Nice Highway setup IMO)

Thats a fairly interesting reason to make such a purchase. But if youre happy, then....

I have to ask, if you had an Evo, and your wife teased you for having a 4 cyl, would you STILL buy a mustang?

Well considering that the EVO is at the top of the highest cost to insure list....(Badass car that it is)

Yes I would get a GT500

I love that my wife teased me about having a 4cyl.

That was her way of saying
"go ahead and buy the ZPI midmouted turdo or buy a car thats already fast or stop talking to me about horsepower"

Well, how come you didn't buy the turbo, and keep the insurance rate you had(which is prolly lower than with the mustang...) and have a quicker bBox.

Looks like you'd have saved money that way.....and still had a car that wasn't such a PITA come snow time

I like to go fast not quick

When I realized that I couldnt go any faster in 5th gear then 4th gear I decided I was fighting a losing aerodynamics battle.

I'm not Scion bashing- i loved my little xb and drove it like i stole it till the day i traded it.

I selected the mustang because of :
Cost
It fits my big ___
lots of well tested performance parts
great insurance rate---about $100 more than my xb
It's a piece of american heritage

any interest in?

set of snow tires and rims
Volant ram air
