I just witnessed the WORSE car commercial of all time. It was a Chevy ad comparing the Chevy Equinox to the ... wait for it .. wait for it .... Lexus RX350! Are they insane??!! It is the proverbial comparison of apples and oranges??

The ad goes, they both come with standard v6 engines, but the Equinox has more rear leg room and is $15,000 less than the Lexus. Well NO ____! It's a flippin Lexus, not a disposable Chevy!! What are they going to be doing next, comparing the Cobalt to a Maybach??? The Cobalt gets better milage than the Maybach, so it's an obvious rival!

Just a little outraged at the stupidity of this commerical.

They DO have a whole lot of rear legroom, but yeah, it's a stupid comparison.

 

Yeah, like the rear-leg room is going to be a determining factor. Personally, leg-room is on the bottom of my priority list when searching for a new car. Heck, I'll never be riding in the back, that's for sure!

 

Lexus shoppers typically don't cross shop with Chevy (bowtie) branded cars. However they might cross shop with Cadillac. Go to the GM/Equinox site and click on the "Compare Vehicles" link. The Equinox is compared to the CRV, RAV4, Escape, and Liberty.
