well, my dad bought me the car..and wouldnt tell me exactly how much it costed, and i pay $3,200 a year for insurance. I like both of the cars about the same i like the performance, interior, and sound of the cobalt more but once i had the tc lowered and all of the other things i had done to it i liked the exterior a little more. But, other than that I would probably choose the SS again over the tc.

I don't know about the rest of the Cobalt but I wouldn't call the ECOTEC a crappy engine, it was origonally a European developed or Opel specifically and was turbocharged and used in the Opel Speedster or Vauxhall VX220. This aluminum based engine has also been tuned to 1000+ hp and has cars with it consecutive many pro-drag series, including all engine ones. Word to the wise don't slam things you know barely anything about.

I have respect for the Cobalt SS, but the quality and durability can't touch the tC. Not to mention the resale value, image, flexibility, etc.

The Coblat SS is still a Cobalt... which is something that I would not be proud to own.

Well, i only have to be worried about it for a few years because if i get good grades through highschool and get a good scholarship ill have a new car for college. And stock vs. stock it blows the tc's performance away and i havent had a problem with it yet but i guess people will have their own opinions.

First off how can you even try to compare a stock tC (naturally asperated) to an SS cobalt (supercharged)? Not to mention the 4K or so difference in price. Sounds like an apples to oranges thing to me. If you add the SC to the tC the tC would win hands down for better overall vehicle. ie; fit and finish, overall looks, trade-in value... this list could go on and on.

Secondly, I got the xB for overall function and looks. I've bought 2 dr. coupes before and this vehicle was NOT going to be another vehicle where I end up sitting on the floor and had to climb out of a hole. LOL Sure, I love the looks of the tC but couldn't live with the everyday ergos of that style car. How did throwing the xB into the mix happen anyhow???

You don't even realize how funny this statement sounds. Especially coming from a 16 yr. old spoiled rich kid. When you get out into the REAL world, I hope you get a good chuckle out of this whole conversation. Enjoy being young because once your outta school time starts going faster and faster. Food for thought

Not like anyone cares much for Jersey either.

Btw, you got to give the Cobalt SS credit for getting 25/34mpg which puts it right up there with the Civic Si for performance and fuel efficiency. Every other aspect can be debatable though. Also, did you ever consider its cheaper cousin the Saturn ION Redline?

Wow. I came on this board to actually make a thread saying that I'm in the process of looking into trading in my tC for a SuperCharged SS.

I paid 23K for my tC and the S/C SS will land right around that. 205HP w/ the same MPG... go Cobalt.

160HP tC --- 23/30
205HP S/C SS --- 23/29

^^^ Good god, didn't you just get the tC?
You'll regret getting a Cobalt as soon as it either dies, falls apart, or you try and sell it.

Good luck, you'll need it.

Wow, Sorry you had to pay (got taken for) that much for a 16K car. May I ask if it was GOLD plated?

A supercharged tC should cost under 20K...go tC
