Considering a different flavor.....
I know what you mean....If I were to buy, I would get a 5spd with VSA/NAV. Honda has decided for me that in order to get VSA(vehicle stability assist) I have to purchase NAV ( navigation) for it as well. That increases the total cost significantly. Equipped as such, it makes for a pretty pricy small car.
instead of getting another car and getting rid of the xb.. why dont you just buy sway bars, strut bars and trd lowering springs? im pretty sure it would outperform the fit sport any day.
Yup, at least my 07 Fit did. I had lowering springs with 17" rims... My guess is that it has to do with being a dimensionally smaller car that is 500 lbs lighter and Honda's philosophy that they build cars that are more engaging to drive. If you look at Honda /Toyota , Accord / Camry,Civic/Corolla there is always a mention that the Honda handles better. Don't get me wrong, IMO, Toyota builds world class cars (Lexus) that are the epitome of refinement along with reliability that no one can match.....my two cents.
I think Honda and Toyota both build fantastic cars/trucks, too. As for Hondas being more "engaging," perhaps that's true from the factory. However, I think my Yaris, which has coilovers, TRD rear swaybar, and sticker tires, is very entertaining to pilot.
I will that generally, Hondas have a bit more interior quality, and refinement. However, I love my Yaris and would buy another one in a heartbeat (either that or an xD).
With that being said, the Fit is a fantastic vehicle. A bit more expensive, but so be it. Drive what you love, love what you drive. I've got both Honda and Toyota in my driveway.
