I was wondering if there was anyone intimately familiar with the workings of a Corolla XRS (2003-ish). Mainly related to tuning aspects in regards to VVTLi, timing, injector swaps, proper AFRs while N/A etc.

That engine was actually a cool idea in a Corolla. Its a shame Toyota didnt continue that trend.

 

Yeah the 2ZZ-GE is what I've got to tune. This will be fun :/

 

Sales could of been stronger but the car was not marketed well and was released the same time as the tC which had a lower starting price. The 6 speed XRS is a fun car to drive though.

 

I took a ride in it yesterday and I was pretty impressed with it's dual mode VVTL-i powerband. He's using an Apexi FC to tune and it's a pretty nice controller for this application. Wish me luck!

 

tuning would be the same as the gt-s powered celicas, so research that.

 

Yeah, that search result on other forums brought up more info. I'll keep you guys posted on the progress once I get my hands on his car for a bit.
