Ford Flex
This is from the New York Auto Show, it looks like (someone said in the post on autoblog), a chopped and stretched XB. I agree

6-speed transmission. The powertrain is expected to deliver more than 260 horsepower,
245 lb.-ft. of torque and good fuel economy.

Yet another failed attempt by Ford to copy something and not quite get it right. I'm enjoying watching Ford slowly die one customer at a time! Ha Ha Ha!!!
I think it's beautiful. I would never buy one in a million years, but I love the styling and the very elegant-looking interior.
This car is big, nothing like an xB. It has 3-row seating, and is more competetive with the Mazda5 or the 3-row RAV4 than anything else, I think. Or even the Pacifica. It's a big, heavy, powerful family cruiser that IMO should do well if Ford can price it sanely and manage the build-quality issues.

In their article they compare it to the old Fairlane wagons, and it's a very fair comparison. This Flex is exactly what we used to mean when we called something a station wagon, and you can see why so many of us understand the xB to also be a station wagon, albeit a small one.

Not to change the subject but I'd only like to see what the big 3 could truely do if they could break the grip the UAW has on them. They could then compete head to head with Toyota and produce some good quality and reasonbly priced cars that people actually want to buy.
