Default Former tC owner...

I used to have this guy from Feb 2007 - April 2008:

I then decided to upgrade to one of these guys:

Big selling points were factory turbo with factory warranty, great road handling straight out of the box, less popular and more power than a tC, Si, 08 WRX, GTI (uniqueness factor).

35/20 tint
AVH-P4100DVD Headunit
DLS up6i 6.5" 2way components front speakers
Image Dynamics 5x7 CTX coaxials rear speakers
Stereo Ingegrity Mag v4 12" subwoofer
Alpine PDX1.1000 mono amp
Alpine PDX4.100 4 channel amp
Kicker 0 gaugle power wire
Knukoncepts RCA cables
Nextmod rear spoiler extention
Cobb front and rear sway bars

Professionally Aligned and Corner Balanced

Never was a fan of the mazdaspeed3's looks, but it does look damn good in white with those wheels. Congrats!

^^ actually i would say that the ms3 is a great upgrade over the tC. the car is a really great car for the price. the car has gret power. and handles really nice in the turns. i would totally get that over a si or gti/wrx... i actually was going to pick that up after i test drove one. but i decided to go after a differnt tuning road. the only negative thing about that car is that its still in the FWD arena and it does have alot of torque steer, and the engine mounts on those speeds are crap.,,, but yours look really clean i like that wing. it looks prolly best in white or red IMO..

even with these few stats, I believe it is an upgrade: 0-60 in 5.4 second, 103+ horsepower and 120+ ft/lbs tq at the flywheel over the tC, a Limited slip differential, 2 extra doors and more interior space, and better suspension leading to better handling at stock. I'm not close minded so I'd love to hear your argument on why it is not an upgrade. Please post up.

These are great points you have listed and I totally agree in that the torque steer is a big negative. The engine mounts are also crappy and tend to deteriorate over time so I have upgraded that to an aftermarket motor mount.

still fwd and as mentioned torque steer .

extra doors may be nice but if you had a 2 door like the tc the 4 door mazda 3 is just oddball to me .

mazda

it's a mazda , owned by ford .

low resale

i dunno before i got my xb i looked at mazda 3's and just didn;t like the car that much once i got into it and checked it out .

just me and my opinions . not too many facts just resale and torque steer .

great pics cj and i knew u would do something like that. Anyways i dont' know what that guy is talking about. What exactly would your definition of an upgrade be? i your talking about full on upgrade of course its not to its potential but never the less, an upgrade is an upgrade. As you stated before your only rebuttal was it was fwd and the resale was bad. From that i can tell that your definition of an upgrade relies on the cost of the car and not by the performance of the vehicle itself. Personally i love the mazda speed 3. In my books thats definitely an upgrade. Its in a whole another class from the tc's and definitely is a great choice. But your opinion is your opinion and im not saying your wrong. Im just saying you might wanna restate your definition of an upgrade

Stock for stock, I think the MS3 is an obvious upgrade over the tC.

I do respect your opinions but when it started to spit out actual facts you failed to support your argument of whether or not the ms3 was a upgrade over the tC. The tc I owned had torque steer and so did the '00 Honda Civc Si I owned so I think that point of your argument is irrelevant when comparing FWD cars. As for resale value, you are correct in that Mazdas do not have the high resale value of a Honda or Toyota but they are not terrible either.

Built and finished my trunk install

Total build time was around 24hrs. Started on a Tuesday and finished up wrapping the vinyl on Thursday night. This the most extensive setup I've ever built and one of the best sounding as well.

Are you really saying that because the MS3 has 4 doors the tC is better?

The MS3 is an upgrade over the tC hands down in the performance category.

Here's a breakdown of just the supplies:
35 for the 9'x4' mdf board. 30 for the 2 yrds of vinyl. 10 for the white fabric. 10 for spray glue. And lets just say 20 for other misc stuff I already had laying around.

What will cost the most is buying the tools if you don't already own them.
