Geely GT concept
Chinese auto manufacturer Geely has released images of three new concept cars set to bow in the upcoming Auto China 2008 in Beijing. Headlining the pack is the Geely GT, also known as Geely Tiger. While there are only two images to speak of, there is enough interest around to make it of the most talked about cars scheduled to be unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show. Overall styling of GT concept, with FR proportion extending the length of the hood, features a front wheel located well forward of the body and heavy tapering of the surfaces both front and rear. This visually reduces the overhang and in effect creates excellent proportion and stance. Details such as the 'whip'-like chrome finishing around the DLO and the rear tail lamp and 'feline-like' front face with aggressive M-shaped grille define the car. It seems that Geely Auto, one of the few Chinese manufacturers with styling as their top priority, will continue this philosophy. And it will be interesting to see if they can steal the spotlight from the more established automakers such as Chery and the global overseas manufacturers when the car is officially revealed.
