Default Got a problem....need advice

Ok so I dont know where to put this but since i own an XB i figured this would be an ok place. My roommate has an eclipse and while driving his cd player lost power. To work any accessories such as power locks power and windows the engine has to be on. His dome light doesnt work and his sunroof doesnt work. He said he check all the fuses and they were good. He thinks it has something to do with his alarm system but i dont really think so. What could cause this besides a blown fuse?

I think im going to take a look at the fuses myself just to make sure but i just wanted to pick your brains for a minute and see what you guys thought. Thanks!

There's either a short in one of the wires, or the alarm brain needs to be replaced. I'm leaning more towards the short in the wires myself. If the car jostled the wiring just right for the stereo to kill out, then the problem is definitely a short in the wiring somewhere. It's possible the short could be at the alarm brain as well making it very difficult to diagnose the issue.

really sounds like a fuse.. I guess the alarm could do it.. but all signs point to fuse.. sometimes there are more than one that will control a system.. I know on honduhs a engine bay fuse can cause this, even though the related fuse in the cabin is good.

If it was a blown fuse then it shouldn't matter if the engine was on or not, it wouldn't work either way because a blown fuse means an open somewhere in the circuit.

It sounds more like a short to me as well though I could be wrong but I honestly doubt it's a blown fuse because of the conditions
