I will definitely be test driving a Yaris liftback and a Fit when they officially drop. Right now I'm liking the Yaris, but the Fit has some crazy rear seats that can either fold up, or dissapear completely into the floor. I like that.

I'm really anxious to test one out, that's for sure...

I am having a hard time going with the xA with the releases of the Yaris and Fit in the spring. I've been wanting to get the xA for such a long time now...almost seems wrong to get anything but the xA. In the looks department, the Fit is really growing on me and i love the Magic seats, I can see those put to use a lot. And not to mention the Sport model of the Fit with paddle shifters and all of the standard equipment that it will come with, more than the xA. But since the price has not been announced yet, i'll hold my breath eventhough they're saying it'll start at around 13k. The Yaris liftback looks good and I calculated everything with options compared to an xA and it comes out about $400 cheaper. The Yaris sedan does look too Corollaish for me but I do still keep it in mind. Now, I dont know if I should wait or just go for the xA before the spring...ugh...I hate having options sometimes...

The 1.3L i-DSI model was DAMN slow. . .
but the 1.5L i-VTEC was liveable, albeit slow as well. I drove the CVT (mock) 7 speed model, and it was about comparable to an auto xA/xB. However the manual is pretty nice. . . I dunno what tranny/engine options will be available here.
I love the Fit. When my wife's Civic needs replacing, it'll be either a Fit, Yaris, Civic or Corolla most likely taking its place.
I almost waited until the Fit came out in the US to buy my xB.

The Honda Fit is in it's second generation already, same as the Yaris, so they're equal in that regard. I'd take the Yaris over the Fit simply because of the aftermarket already out there for it, but why Toyota is only bringing the 3 door over and not the 5 door is beyond me. Especially since they have the 5 door RS in Canada. Maybe I'll go there and buy one, although I wonder if there's any problems importing it.

But yeah. . . I would have a hard time purchasing an xA over a 5 door Yaris, considering all the small improvements they've made. . . perhaps there is an update to the xA coming, based on the 5 door Yaris (which might be packaged as a Scion???) I have no idea. . . I pulled that guess out of my butt, so I'm just going to wait and see.
