Yes it does, but then again it does look pretty small compared to the rest of the cotpit.

I also feel it would have been erginomically better if they placed the shift buttons above the steering wheel's cross bar rather than below. This is meant to be a sporty hatchback after all.

I think this new Accent can come out quite soon, they are already annouced that the new Santa Fe is coming out later this fall.

Also, for a production version they would most likely work off of the Kia Spectra5. Which is why I think double wishbone would have been more appropiate. Unless the Mcpherson's naturally higher stance compliments the AWD as well as perhaps larger all-season tires.

But they are probably not going to come out with it until they get a working manual transmission for the new AWD system. Unless they do want to make it almost a complete homoginazation of the WRC version.

Yeah, I say the more sporty hatchbacks the better. I just hope they don't water it down too much before production, if we even get the SR.

Thats what I said it is. Its the new 2005 Focus sold every but North America in typical Ford fashion.

However, other cars that share its platform are the Volvo S4, the much in common Mazda3 as well as this up coming hatchback.

Also the Accent SR and Nissan Sport seem to share allot in common with this limited production hatch by Daihatsu.

At least I think it is a limited production according to this site.

I never said anything about the broken car above being the Ford Focus, you clarified that first.

That thing is sweet looking. I love the fact, that the 5 lug wheels lead me to think its going to have some power. Maybe it will sport the 2.7L V6 that some of the other line has.

a 2.7L V6 in an Accent? Fat chance, haha.

I think one of the pulled quotes earlier in the thread said it was a turbocharged 4.

Isn't a turbocharged 2.0l that can possibly support up to 250hp stock is good enough for you?

And you drive just a Scion.

See my point, I am not saying Scions are bad but manufacturers like Hyundai and Saturn must have done something right in order for Toyota to create the Scion brand the first place.

Also, you keep on saying its "just a Hyundai" while admiring such as the Mitsubishi EVO which will be soon fitted with engines that they assisted in developing, and then come back to me saying the same thing.

The only way Toyota or Scion can compete with this is to import the Storia x4.

It is & a 2L 4 banger built right could manage over 500hp I could see the need for 5 lugs if it was going to be turbo. That would be real sweet Who cares if it will break in 5 years, thats what the 10 year warranty is for

Wow, that has got to be one of the funniest yet coolest things I ever heard about a Hyundai.

Right on!!

That would actually be great advertising if Hyundai had a commercial that said something of that sort. Perhaps Scion would get to that first.

Yes European, because Ford is probably never going to sell it in America. This Hyundai or, if the Volvo V30R ever comes to the US, will be the closest thing to the Focus RS in the US.

And what makes you think they look totally identical?

Well, it does have some cues but the least you can call it design wise is a cross between the Focus and Vitz.

That is the Ford Focus ST, not RS.

And to be honest the newer one has even less in common with the Accent SR aside from some of the side window, door handle and somewhat the front grill. Which like I said before shares more in looks with the Vitz.
