dodge equals epic fail, i mean, who could have foreseen that windshield washer motors could get wet? or that leaving unused electrical bits lying around inside a minivan could be dangerous?

It's not the first time Chrysler has been bailed out; the difference between now and ~1980 is the leadership. Lee Iacocca brought them back AND repaid the loans.

Stupidity in these two instances. Someone probably questioned it along the line and they were told to shut up and hope that no one ever noticed.

yeah but it seems a lot of American manufacturers have recalls that somehow result in a car catching on fire.

I remember watching on the news a few years back that ford had a recall that went back about 10 or so years that basically applied to almost EVERY vehicle. It had something to do with the cruise control possibly causing an electrical fire.

Honda and Toyotas have their fair share of recalls so stop bashing on dodge and all US products... Move out of this country and stop corrupting our economy by bashing them for something so little

I don't think paying for a second and a THIRD transmission is something so little on my New Yorker.

I'm as nationalist about the USA as anyone but I'm not a fool.

A TSB is not the same as a recall.

if you are talking about your tc listed in your profile, you're wrong, they were built in japan.

ok.

well i have to agree with you, it's sad how many pieces of poo that the american auto makers have put out. A guy i work with has put over 2 grand into his dodge Intrepid (i believe) which is only a couple years old.

edit: the 2 grand is within the past 2 weeks.

I love the new Chevy ads:

"Put on your rally caps, America and buy one of our cars! We're into the recovery! Oh, BTW, if you lose your job we'll make your payments for a few months..."

Lotsa confidence there!

Well, el presidente is guaranteeing the warranties...that's about as reliable. We've seen how well "they've" run Medicare and Social Security.

the domestic manufacturers shot themselves in the face with the fact that they engineer their cars to break down shortly after the warranty expires. my chevy's cheap factory intake manifold cracked at about 65k miles, which cost me $1200 to replace. i blew my rear brake seals because i had to do a panic stop once. i also went through 3 alternators on that car in under 2 years. as a result i'll never buy another gm product again. i think none of the big 3 never looked at the big picture, which is repeat business. my tC built in toyota city is over-engineered and was manufactured to superior standards. that means a better end product, no matter how many voice activated gadgets the domestics pack in there. most people aren't stupid, and they'll go elsewhere if you burn them with an inferior product.
