I have owner's pride too but I have been thinking about getting the turbo cobalt but toyota is going to release a turbo coupe also but it's coming out in 2011 right now I don't know which one I will get. I might just stick with my turbo tC. I dont think I can gave up on scion yet. I have a lot of friends with scions. A lot of toyota/scion dealerships know me by my first name so far they shown me respect. Those are some of the reason why I would keep my turbo tC.(plus I pump a lot of money in it)
If you was going to get a turbo cobalt. I said wait a year, Just incase it might have some problems

I remember reading that the MS3 don't handle as well as the new turbocharged Cobalt SS. Plus the MS3 is a bit slower with worst gas mileage. I also don't like the hatch trim that only comes with the MS3.

i wouldn't consider either one of those an upgrade. chevy is crap. just utter crap.
and mazda...owned by ford...again, utter crap.
don't get distracted by bhp numbers, anybody can make a car with high hp these days, but how well can they build the car itself? how reliable is it? how much resale does it have? how well does it handle. how much is the insurance?
and ofcourse, go and test drive them yourself. but the experiences of friends and family members have turned me away from both chevy and mazda.

whats wrong with your tC? it looks good, runs good, handles good. i'm not going to abandon mine for any other front wheel drive car on the market.
but i would look at subaru impreza wrx new or lightly used if you like the last gen better.
but your going to trade in your supercharged 4cyl front wheel drive hatchback for a turbocharged 4cyl front wheel drive coupe or wagon..along what lines is this an upgrade? because they cost more?
i mean, it looks like you've put alot of money and work into your tC and your not going to make it back parting it out and trading it in, i'd enjoy it for all the work and money i've put into it.

I'm gonna keep the tC...just getting another car. I can't see my car go...it's too hard for me to accept that. We've been through too much. It would be cool to have a turbocharged tC, but I don't want to risk my car getting crushed or impounded for illegality. A factory turbo is what i'm going for. I would get a used WRX STI, but the gas mileage is so bad, it's like 18 city/23 hwy!! The Cobalt will get me 22 city/30 hwy!! Just like a stock tC will do. I don't really like the hatchback look, that is what is turning me away from the Speed3, it only comes in that trim.

yeah, i can understand most of that, but if i was going to get another car and keep the tC i would something completly different, either rear wheel drive, all wheel drive, or 4 wd pick up or something just completel different from the tC.

you could get a new mazda mx-5 if you are secure in your masculinity and can fit in one!
and don't believe everything you see on youtube. and also, from a roll. the mazdaspeed3 might be faster because it ahs less drivetrain loss sending the power to the front wheels than the 350z. but in everyother kind of racing, the 350z would beat the mazdaspeed3 because of the drivetrain layout, road racing, autocrossing, drag racing etc.
but i mean, why buy another car that is alot like the car you already have? that is all i am saying. it is your money and it is up to you, but unless something horrible happens to my tc (heaven forbid), i am not buying another front-wheel drive boosted hatchback. i'd buy something either more useful like a truck for towing/hauling off-roading inclement weather and driving a group of people around. or a true sports platform with rear or all wheel drive.
for instance, i am strongly considering buying a used subaru forrester xt 5 spd that is at my dealership because it is turbo, awd, and a big wagon and it would be good for hauling people or large things, and good in bad weather etc and good to have should my tC have some unforsceen downtime durring an upgrade.
