Default Installers.. I need help...

Alright so I just purchased a 2004 Nissan Murano with the Bose system. Thing is I want iPod integration and i want a tv with dvd up front in the dash so I'm looking for something aftermarket, Does anyone know what will fit? I dont think it is double din. The stock stereo is also an odd shape. Anyone with any info or a place I can go to get the install done in the NYC area would be much appreciated.

If it's not double din (though from looking at pics, I think it might actually be) you probably won't be able to get something with a screen built in per-say. You would need something that has a fold out screen.

If it is double din, your selection for the stereo would increase. I like the actual screen stereos vs the fold out because the fold out has more moving parts and can break easier. I had a pioneed avic-n3 and exactly 61 days after I got it, the motor failed. So I upgraded to the z1. I love the z1...

It looks like the Murano might already have GPS. If you do, then you wouldn't need something so elaborate like the n3 or z1 (go to Pioneer's website, or my page for pics of the z1/n3). A simple in dash dvd player doesn't cost near as much as the GPS (a difference of anywhere from 500-1500 dollars depending on what you get).

Here is a list of some in-dash dvd players.

You might want to check at your local stereo place and see if you can fit a double din in there...

Integration with the Bose system would be tricky right? I know whenever you add stuff to a Bose/Infinity/Mach Premium upgraded stereo like that it, its hard to keep everything working with a different head unit, right?

Yeah, it might be a little tricky because of the amps that are used to power the speakers. I haven't done any Bose installs or done an install in which bose speakers were used previously, so I am only speaking from hear-say.

Most factory headunits do not have RCA outputs. So the Amp for the Bose speakers is not connected in that fashion. I think there is a mod that you can do to connect the amp up... or I guess you could just get a new amp and power the speakers that way... once again, I do not really know. You might NEED that particular amp for the speakers. In a case like this, I would be sure to look for as much info as possible BEFORE the install.
